I'm a training instructor for a transit company, and we wear uniform shirts with patches and name badges. It looks professional, has a loose fit. feels cool and comfortable in hot weather, and the material "breathes", which keeps you from going nuts in a humid environment. The trouble I have with white shirts is the fact that it doesn't stay white after being either washed or dry cleaned for long. A couple of months and it yellows, or looks gray, or the collar is ringed with sweat that is difficult to remove, or stained with coffee, ink from pens, or the collar starts to fray. Since these shirts are inexpensive, I just remove the patches, buy another shirt, have a seamstress put the patches on, and stay clean and fresh looking without breaking my bank account. I love it.
