You will need to get a small Phillips head screwdriver, a Tri-Wing screwdriver, and a pair of angled tweezers to easily replace the joysticks. Also missing are instructions and skill, but because the interior of the Joy Cons vary, you’re better off looking at online videos anyways. As for skill, you will need a steady hand and I will warn you - if you can’t thread a needle with a thread without flipping out, you may just want to pay someone else to do this for you. It took less than 10 minutes to change out a single joystick, and after reconnecting to the Switch and calibrating, it worked great. The joysticks feel exactly like the OEM controllers and move smoothly without any lag or weird movement. For less than $5 a joystick, this was an absolute steal in comparison to buying a new controller.
