A large thin item will take less time than a smaller thick item. If your environment, temp and humidity levels play a big role too. A 1/4 inch thick by 4 inch square in my dry warm home, we heat with a wood stove, was dry in 2 days; probably sooner but I didn't check it any sooner than that. **Q: I've noticed that on the Stonex clay, it says that water can be used to soften the clay when it gets too hard. Does the same go for Marblex clay?** A: Yes. We often made a dish, then after it dried (up to three years later) if it had not been fired, we could smash it, mix water and remake it. **Q: Can you glaze it without firing it?** A: You can paint it, you cannot glaze it. If you want a clay that you can glaze you have to fire it for your desired finish. if you do decide to fire this clay it will crack no matter what and become extremely brittle. **Q: When attaching clay to clay to make flower onlays placed on wood, which clay will adhere best to primed wood without cracking or breaking off?** A: Clay will not adhere to primed wood, you would have to roughen up the area that you attach it to In order for it to stick or it will fall off no matter what kind of clay you use. Created a sculpture, which included small parts of clay created as well. The form was nice and clean up is a breeze. Air dried in a couple of days for the thicker portions. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is because it's EXTREMELY fragile once dried.
