desertcart.com: Fangirl, Vol. 1: 9781974715879: Rowell, Rainbow, Nam, Suyeon: Books Review: If you love Fangirl, this is a MUST ❤️ - This is fantastic! Normally I'm not big on graphic novels but I made an exception since Fangirl is one of my favorite books ever. So far the art is beautiful and it sticks to the storyline perfectly. I plan on buying on four volumes. It's nice to see the characters come to life. Levi is still adorable 😍. Review: Emergency Dance Party for this book! - I was so excited when I heard Rainbow Rowell’s Fangirl was being adapted as a manga. It’s a book I love and have read many times, so seeing it come to life in manga form has been a wish come true. It went beyond my expectations! The character designs are brilliant—Gabi Nam has captured Cath, Levi, Reagan, Wren, Simon, and Baz SO WELL!! And the other characters as well! They come to life on the page. The pacing is engaging and the manga follows the book in a faithful and reverent way. I love the details in the art—Levi’s hair, the way he flops on a bed, the layers of cardigan and T-shirt for Cath, her wide eyes behind her glasses, the Simon and Baz pillows, the posters on the wall! So many lovely details. And the body positivity of the art—giving real world appearances to the characters as far as height and curves and shape. It’s refreshing and true to the book. The pages with Simon and Baz are a revelation. It’s lovely to see the juxtaposition of Gemma T. Leslie’s version vs Cath’s version vs the ones from Rainbow Rowell’s Carry On! And the bits of new Simon and Baz content! I can’t say enough good things. This book is for everyone—fans of Fangirl, Carry On devotees, manga fans, and people who have never heard of Fangirl or Simon and Baz or manga—it’s truly a book for anyone who enjoys a good story and engaging characters, which Rowell is brilliant at writing. Highest recommendation. It went so beyond expectations. Such a good adaptation! Can’t wait for volume 2!!

Loved this!
I never read the Fangirl book but I've read the Simon Snow books. I loved this graphic novel just as much as those books. I'll get Volume 2 and I'll be reading the novel. I wish this was in color.

Must have
This adaptation made me squeal with giddiness. It has been a while since I read Fangirl but was so pleasantly sucked back into this world. The art by Gabi Nam is amazing and just makes for such a cool media transition. The more Levi we get to see the better! It's just so wonderful to see so many cute scenes visually. Sam Maggs did a great job on the script and Rainbow Rowell got to write new dialogue as well as new scenes. It stays very close to the book and it is amazing. I was so sad when it ended. Highly recommended.

AS PERFECT AS ALPACAS
What a book! I just read it in a couple of hours, could not put it down. I've loved this book for a long time and this manga adaptation is truly perfect. The characters are brought to life so realistically. All the moments you conjured in your head are captured by this novel. Levi is adorable, Cather is the GOAT, Reagan is awesome, Nick is handsome yet a bit overwhelming. The Simon and Baz moments *chef's kiss*. The level of detail from everyone's clothing styles to Wren's earrings, just wow. I have never written a review before but this book truly blew me away. A masterpiece, can't wait for volume 2! Thank you to everyone who brought this to life!

If you loved the novel, you NEED the manga
I fell in love with Cath and Levi when Rainbow first published the Fangirl novel. I remember devouring it on my lunch hour at work, and squeeing with joy when she revealed that "Carry On" was going to become an ACTUAL THING. So imagine my delight when she announced a new way fans could experience Cath, Levi, Simon, and Baz. The illustrations are absolute perfection, bringing each character to life in a way that only makes you love them more. (The Emergency Dance Party has GOT to be my favorite scene of all time!) I was stuck between turning pages as fast as I could to read more, more, more . . . and wanting to savor each page down to the tiniest detail. Guarantee this is a volume that will be reread multiple times while I anxiously await volume 2.

Super cute!
Fangirl is my favorite book, so I was so exited to see that it was adapted into a manga! Let me tell you, I was not disappointed! I have read the OG book at least a dozen times (please someone make a movie), and I was so impressed with how this manga was adapted. It was so fun to read! I can't wait to get my hands on the other volumes!

The book was so freaking interesting that it made me sit in one position and made me read the book within an hour. The main lead Cath is really like me - a girl who doesn't like to socialize physically but active in online. The illustration was really beautiful . This is my first Rainbow Rowel's book . Waiting for the next volume .

Todo perfecto. Entregado a tiempo y en perfectas condiciones. Era para un regalo y cumplió a la perfección. Es la novela tal cual, y los dibujos son bastante simpáticos y ayudan a poner cara a los personajes de Fangirl.
