## Questions & Answers

**Q: Do I need to add anything to the coconut fiber soil to start and grow seeds such as liquid plant food or fertilizer?**
A: You don't fertilize seeds.  They contain all nutrients needed to start growing.  At minimum wait until seedlings have more than the first 2 initial leaves and only fertilize very lightly.  Much of the point of using something other than soil to start seedlings is that the high nutrients in soil will contribute to mold and diseases that kill seedlings.  Most seedlings should simply be repotted in actual potting or garden soil when they are large enough without needing fertilizer unless you leave them growing longer than usual in the seed trays or starter pots.

**Q: why does it say avoid run off?**
A: it stains and creates a bad smell but my girls love it. so don’t over water and you’ll be fine with a fan by it also

**Q: Can i use this on the floor of my turtle habitat?**
A: Mine had a chemical smell. I wouldn’t.

**Q: Can this be used as top dressing for lawns?**
A: I would use peat moss to cover seed if that's the intent. It would be much cheaper, in my opinion. But that also depends on the size of the lawn.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great substitute for peat, and my plants love it!

I’m really impressed with this coco coir. I use it to add to soils for my succulents, cacti, houseplants and trees. It’s environmentally friendly, which is nice as an alternative to peat moss.It’s difficult to divide, if you’re not using a whole brick at a time, but I’ve found a saw works well to divide the bricks. If you’re using bricks at a time, just add water and stir for a great soil mix for tropicals by itself, or as a soil additive.I mix 50% of this with 50% perlite as a soil mix to germinate seeds, and have great success. It falls apart fairly easily when you’re transplanting, so you have easier access to just the plant and root structure.Additionally, some reviews mentioned a chemical smell. I do not have this issue. My coco coir dried bricks have no noticeable smell, and only smell like wet coconut husks when moist. My plants love this, so I’m satisfied with the product. I’ll definitely be buying more when I run out.

Buy it!An absolute must if you are growing microgreens! I simply get a cookie sheet and put down my white strainer tray and put in it. I add water to the the cookie sheet.I get another large bowl, I put my brick in it, I add water little by little breaking off as muck as I need. It’s really just this easy. As soon as the water hit it is turn into mulch!I did 4 trays with about a little bit of the brick! I was going broke buying the strips to line my trays!If you grow anything that needs a liner , you need these bad boys ... you won’t find anything on the market that is this cheap and no, I was not paid for this review... I am a new to micro growing and was about to give up because it just was cost effective till now!!!

I don’t use chemicals on our property anymore for the safety of out animals and the wildlife. This product is amazing. Not only does it mix well with soul, it helps keep my plants and flowers moist and around the area is weed free wherever this is! I love it! Mix it with the soil your planting in! I also planted seeds and bulbs outside and mixed this in and they grew beautifully!
