I quickly give them a shhhhh for the Jack Russell Terrier and her protege, the Rottie pup, whose breed is not given to barking like terriers. My husband and I use it as a training tool to get the attention of the puppy who wants to be friends with our elderly cat, who has no interest to return the friendship. Very quick response to the device in training and reinforce positive behavior while breaking old bad habits for the Jack Russell Terrier. My only regret is that I didn’t buy the device sooner and that I didn’t buy two so that my husband and I both have the devices by our sides. I am ASTOUNDED by the quick results and their compliant behavior. This is a winner for training two different aged dogs of two different innate skill sets. I purchased this particular brand only because it had the fastest shipping and I was at my wit’s end with my dog. I have a chihuahua/jack russell mix who goes crazy at the sight of strangers or other dogs. He’s not aggressive, it’s mostly just excitement, but his attitude makes other people (and some dogs) nervous, on top of being annoying. We recently moved from a house to an apartment where there are a lot of other dogs and people, so his barking problem became a real problem and I was getting desperate. My dog is 6 years old (I’ve had him for 3) so this barking has been a lifelong issue of his...and after ONE DAY using this he is an entirely different dog. I did have to press it several times yesterday to get him to understand that it was going to happen every time, but by the end of the day he went from going crazy with uncontrollable barking and pulling on his leash, to being able to calmly walk past another dog with no barking.
