Nut
Trans working good so far, only complaint is the nut they sent did not thread on, had to make a trip to hardware store 16mm 1.50 pitch

So far so good.
No instructions but I was going off the reservation anyway, it needed a bearing on the end of the 5/8 input shaft, too much torque. I'm using it on my golf cart, electric to gas conversion with a 17.5hp motor, switched everything to 40 pitch chain, shifts good so far, I mounted it with the shifter on top, its puking gear oil because its over filled but im sure that will figure its self out eventually.

Welp. Its on there.
Device seems to function so far. Zero instructions provided. Would recommend but prepare to stare at your machine for a couple hours to figure it out

Works, but save your sanity and get an mounting kit!
Not for novice installation. Must have metal fabrication skills, tools, and be good at using them to figure out how to install this.....or buy the mounting kit for the engine, torque converter, and gearbox to save time and headaches. Some kind of instructions would have been nice, but it does work well after you figure everything out for yourself.

Works.......and it's awesome
Like many others here, installed on a Coleman KT196. If you have any familiarity with a welder it is pretty straightforward to install. Took about 3-4 hours with a good deal of that dedicated to explaining what I was doing to a 6yr old. If I get motivated I will update with pictures, but basically the below sums it up: 1) Remove existing clutch and driven pully from Kart. Cut rear protector bar off 2) Remove spacer ring from driven pully housing (silver, drivers side). Place on drive shaft next to existing brass spacer bushing 3) use two 3" long section of angle iron (of appropriate thickness). Drill hole for 8mm bolt towards back top of each (for mounting of transmission). I bought a longer bolt (120mm) and used a 1" spacer between the trans mount (lower bolt hole) and the passenger side piece of angle. This allowed for a better position in welding to the existing motor mount structure. 4) Align drive sprocket with trans sprocket. Tack into place 5) Attached upper adjustment saddle (the gold "U" with a threaded rod sticking out. 6) Place a sleeve over this rod and, one aligned, weld to the top of the sleeve that previously held the driven pully shaft removed in step 1. You will need a longer bolt to re-attach the pully later (can get at hardware store) 7) Confirm chain length with new section of #40 roller chain. Adjust tack positions as required for adequate fit 8) Weld everything in place. The center distance between the drive and clutch shafts should be around 10 3/4" 9) Use belt 203597A (longer than factory). Attach chain/pullies/belt 10) Use some sort of "L" bracket to secure shifter in appropriate position being sure to attach cables to it before install 11) run cables back to trans, attach, make final adjustments. 12) (optional) weld rear protector bar back on as you please. This makes lifting the rear of the kart soooooo much easier. Can be a first-time fab project, but it will take awhile. Pretty straight forward if you have ever had to adapt two things together on a motorized vehicle that were never intended for such. Makes the kart noticeably faster. Took all of five minutes for above noted 6yr old to test it out after running full speed into a tree.

Did not fit as listed.
It was my last hope. I've ordered cables, shift handles several times. each time they did not work.So I ordered a complete kit/ assembly thinking what can go wrong?! Took the kart to an ATV repair shop. I was not surprised when they called and said that it did not fit nor could they find anywhere on the internet any instructions. I tried and they attempted to contact the seller. NO RESPONSE! Found out today that number on invoice is no good. So I now have a kart that only goes in forward gear. To rub sand into my wound, I had to pay $24.38 to ship it back. It arrived and handed to seller 6/14. still waiting my refund.

So far gear box preforms well... It's built durable ..I use it for extensively modifyed atv with industrial engine to do snow plowing with currently relentless winter.

if you have read any other reviews, you will be aware that there are no instructions of any kind sent with this. If you are comfortable fabricating, it is a easy task. I had some questions about what oil to use, and how much, also what angle could this be mounted. I had to guess on most of those answers. otherwise, it seems to do what it is advertised as.. It gives a nice forward and reverse, nice shifter, nice cables, and it seems to be pretty robust, although I am only using it on an airplane tug, so dont know how it will act on a go kart or similar application.

i think the gearbox will be ok but it needs to be helped!!!! people removing TC back plate---bad for gearbox!!! too much long torque stress on the end of the input shaft--- this makes the white metal housing take all the grunt---we all know about white metal dont we!? secondly the tc backplate keeps the 2 pullies the right distance apart taking the linear [pulling on the belt] torque from the engine. 3 if you dont use a tc then put a pillow block on the end of the input shaft--again taking the torque OFF OF the gearbox housing. shifter wheel bad casting!! MINE came almost empty of any oil----hope your all filling it up b4 use. hope this helps the blowups/life increase for sure i will give it a 3of 5 untill proven 5 if it lasts with this help i will get pictures soon for a 4 track snow sled puller 13 horse honda replica engine
