Well designed unit. I'm and engineer and I measured all the specs (naturally!). The Nooelec up converter meets all of it's specifications. Works much better than any RTL USB stick with direct sampling at HF frequencies, because with this unit you get full control of the RF gain. You can't control the RF gain of a direct sampling RTL Stick at HF frequencies normally. I use this with a ADALM-Pluto for HF coverage. Works great.

I blindly bought a bunch of the SDR add on devices. Once I figured out what this does and what it's for. Definitely a must for the NESDR V5. Was curious if it would hinder the quality of some of the signals I had been able to receive, definitely not. Easy to use, very good quality, good price. I've been using this for over 2 years now.

This is my first upconverter, and I'm pleasantly surprised with its performance. Previously, all I had was an RTL-SDR with direct-sampling mode, which was able to get acceptable reception, but only with a very large outdoor antenna hung up in a tree. In comparison with this thing, it's night and day. This can easily catch the same signals with a small indoor antenna, usually with even better SNR. My one complaint is that its local oscillator is not very precise, which makes it harder to tune accurately to SSB signals. It's definitely more than good enough, though, especially for the price. If you want to get into HF, but don't have an SDR that can get down that low, then this is just the thing to get you started.

I paid 60% more for this defective product than for my RTL-SDR. Apparently I was unlucky and got a dead unit. But if they don't test them before shipping then you may get a dead one also. So be Warned. After using I was suspicious. I connected my Sig Gen with 13.7 MHz at 20mV. Using my scope as a Spectrum Analyzer there was no signal at 125MHz +-13.7MHz. Not even leakage from the 125 MHz Osc measured with a -118dBu noise floor. The LED works for Bias-T and USB power. I will NEVER EVER BUY ANOTHER nooelec product.

For two years I thought my HamItUp nano was defective. All that missed fun, dang. Then I smartened up and purchased a DC Block from Nooelec and installed. Powered nano with micro usb. This thing works excellent! The support from Nooelec is excellent, but only when applied!

Installs easily and performs as it should!! Works very well with my SDR device, giving me a much larger coverage of the shortwave bands above 100khz.

Fonctionne parfaitement en décamétriques. Nota : besoin de le relier à l'antenne via une capacité en série.

Setzt die KW-Frequenzen auf +125Mhz um, das Ergebnis ist wie erwartet.

Muy recomendable, funciona excelentemente con el RTL-SDR V4 y con SDR++ puedes activar el vías Tee y así omitir el cable de alimentación micro USB que incluye, Dispositivo con muy buen acabado. Me llegó dos días antes de lo programado.
