Good-looking AND functional
I've always used stools when I'm working at a desk to keep my feet elevated. This rocks, encouraging you to keep your feet moving. Good for circulation. It's also a better angle somehow. I felt the difference in my lower back immediately. And it's good-looking. This is important to me.

I Like it, but the Rubber Stripping Comes Off
I've had this footrest for about 2 years. The underside of the metal rocking portions have rubber strips. Recently, the rubber strips have come off, and the adhesive portions are making nasty marks on the floor. My husband replaced the strips with gripper strips found at a local hardware store. Same thing - after about a week, those strips are coming off. I will probably remove the strips completely. Only things is, the footrest may slide around a bit. For a $99 footrest, I expect better quality. Other than this one design flaw, I like the footrest. It is nice looking. I don't use it to rock; rather, I like adjustability that the incline offers.

Perfect
It is beautiful, well designed and executed. AND it is helping my neuropathy by allowing me to stretch and work my ankles when I'm tied to the computer working virtually.

looks and feels heavy duty, but looks can be deceiving - DO NOT BUY
WARNING -- Amazon.com is not an authorized humanscale dealer - therefore the lifetime warranty on this product is NULL & VOID! VERY unhappy! This foot rest "crashed" after only a few uses. Purchased last year (seller "Chair Envy"), after an injury, it's mainly been stored (under desk or on a shelf). Didn't use til this year - after only couple uses, went back on shelf. Took it out again, over Thanksgiving and one of the metal side bars bent inwards, splitting the wood. Plans were to attempt repairing with wood glue & extra screws. Today, while writing a review where I thought I had purchased it (but hadn't), I placed it on my kitchen counter to get a photo... thinking I should also take a pic of the top to prove it was the same product, I turned it right side up and the side IMMEDIATELY & COMPLETELY split away from the foot machine / foot rest, rendering it NON-USABLE and IRREPARABLE! Per Humanscale's customer service, they can't do anything because Amazon.com is a 3rd party seller and NOT an authorized dealer. So, that's $99 down the toilet. HumanScale also went so far as to say that I could have been sold a 'refurbished' product.

Canโt get replacement parts
While I have enjoyed using this footrest for many years, the rubber skids on the bottom need replaced and the rubber dot grips on the top have broken. Humanscale said I should go to a hardware store to get replacements. While that might work for the skids, I donโt believe I will be able to find replacements for the rubber grips on the top that have broken and fallen out.

I have short legs and have purchased several of these to place under my desks and tables at home. The rocker motion allows me to fidget and "exercise" my ankles as I work and the black plastic "nubbies" give some stimulation and light massage to the soles of my feet.

Sometimes you buy the expensive version of a thing and know exactly where your money went. This is one of those things. I get a crippling bad back without a footrest at my desk and have had a couple before. Plastic, reasonably sturdy but still plastic. Eventually, a moment of inattention will have me putting too much weight on them and I am left with a cracked lump of unsupporting uselessness and a bad back. So I decided to spend a fair bit more and get something that looked rather more resilient this time. And rather more resilient it is, and then some. This could double as a bomb shelter for small animals (up to hamster size I would say, guinea pigs would be a bit big). I have no intention of testing the theory because I've just paid 96 quid for it and the consequenses of being wrong would make me sad, but I'm confident that I could apply my full weight to this without it even flexing, let alone falling apart. This one also has the added benefit of looking about as stylish as such a thing can be. The grippy bits actually grip, unlike the feet on the aforementioned plastic predecessors, which would gradually travel further and further under the desk, necessitating retrieval. Ain't nobody got time for that. The rocking motion, I had assumed was a bit gimmicky to be honest. I was wrong. It means the whole thing sits at exactly the right angle that your feet want, making it very comfortable to use. It also allows the sort of flexing action recommended on long haul flights, which has helped me avoid being struck down by deep vein thrombosis in the 20 minutes since it was delivered.
