Loved this book in so many ways but other than the rock god and his lady love, there wasn't much else to the story. The reason I had my eye on this book was the setting - Baton Rouge, the place I travel to several times a year to catch a Better than Ezra concert or an LSU game. Jude is the hot front man for Bayou Stix, born & bred in Baton Rouge and coming home to stay. Lexi is his high school love & you don't find out until near the end what exactly tore them apart 8 years ago. Jude wasn't your typical rock star, cocky & boozing it up & sleeping with groupies, until he lost Lexi. What I appreciate about this book is that you know something tore them apart & now that they are together they are going to have some adjustment to the fact that Jude is a rock star & has everything laid out in front of him for the taking. But when they come back together after 8 years it is fast & furious & they don't control their emotions along with their physical connection to each other which could never be replaced. Lots of hot sex here people, and what I liked it that they both admitted to how much they loved each other & still do to this day. The story flips between Lexi's POV & Jude's as well as the past & present and you can clearly read how much Jude longs for a future with Lexi. When we go back into the past it doesn't hurt quite so bad because we know how strong they are now. Jude's posse seems to judge Lexi like she ended their relationship, but then Lexi's posse judges Jude for breaking Lexi's heart. So whose fault is it? I really liked how the tables were turned in this rock star story because it is nice to see a rock star who really was deeply in love & was still judged for being a stereotypical rock star. Wonderful book and we get the set up for Jessie, the guitarist in Bayou Stix. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Holy Southern Rocker Hotness *by K***Y on Reviewed in the United States on June 3, 2014* Alluring Turmoil by Skye TurnerSkye Turner's debut novel? It cannot be her first. Where do I even start with the main characters in this book. The chemistry you feel while reading about Jude and Lexi is palpable. Skye Turner's words put you right there in the middle of it all throughout this whole story! Just like you were some kind of Peeping Tom! LoL! Your heart will pound. Your breath will come quick. You will have to adjust where you hold your Kindle because your chest will be heaving and keeps blocking your view. And IF you are wearing panties you will be changing them often. They are such a dynamic couple. You can't go wrong with one sexy bitch and a hotter than hell Rock Star!! This is the kind of steamy read that gets you #1clicking the rest of the books in the series before you're even a quarter way through. Lexi and her best friend Erik opened up a successful bakery/coffee shop which owning a bakery was Lexi's dream. Jude went off to pursue his life long dream of becoming a famous musician. At the end of Bayou Stix's tour, the last show is set to play in Jude's hometown. When Jude walks into Java & Sweeties, this is when the past and the present collide for the two. Erik knows what happened between Lexi and Jude because they had all been great friends and Erik stayed by Lexi's side being her support.There are a lot of emotions in the air when Jude and Lexi see each other for the first time in 8 years. They didn't leave on good terms so this surprise meeting, Lexi doesn't do well. Over the past 8 years, Jude was devastated by Lexi leaving him without explaining her reasons. For this he is upset, hurt, hating and loving her all at the same time because he doesn't understand why they aren't together anymore. After all these years he has not been able to find any woman that is it for him because he can't get Lexi out of his head and especially his heart. Lexi is shocked to see the man who haunts her dreams. She hates and loves him for what he did to her. She has never found anyone to take his place and the majority of the reason is he has remained in her mind and her heart even though she broke up with him for what she feels if valid reasons.Lexi and Jude decide to live in the present and forget about the past without discussing and resolving what happened all those years ago. The two have not lost the desire and love they have for each other even though they have lived their lives separately and have made mistakes. They start out somewhat slow to get to know each other again and not jump right into intercourse right away. Of course those things never last long. They are definitely hot together.Lexi and Jude of course have some up and downs in the story. There are many misunderstandings that happen in their present and also happened in their past. They need to grow and learn how to talk to each other to see what things really are as opposed to just taking it at face value.I really enjoyed the other characters in the book like her other best friend Randi because she is willing to do anything for her friend just like Erik. The band members Jessie, Dade, Cruz and Liam want to see Jude stay in a good frame of mind not like after the two broke up 8 years ago because Jude was a mess. They try to help the two of them out to hopefully have the best outcome for both of them.I really loved the story of Lexi and Jude because it wasn't about someone they just met out one night at a bar and went home to sleep together and end up together. These two had a past together before they became reacquainted with one another. This makes you want to find out if they can work out all that has happened in the past and what has transpired in the present to see if they will be able to stay together or not. I would recommend this book.
