I watched a YouTube video of a physical therapist demonstrating how to alleviate TMJ with proper pillow alignment. He used a regular pillow that kept the head and neck in alignment. Then, he slid a cylinder pillow under the neck for neck support. I bought this pillow to do the same thing. I have not had neck pain or headaches since I've been using this method. I bought 3 different brands of cylinder pillows and this one is better for me than the other 2. I make sure that my head is on the regular pillow and this cylinder pillow is under my neck. This method helps me sleep better on my side and my back. My sleep quality has improved. The only time I wake up in the night is to use the bathroom. My mattress is very firm which helps, too. I slept on a hotel mattress recently using this method and it was not as comfortable. Give this pillow and this method a try.

This pillow is firm but easy to sleep on. I watched a YouTube video of a physical therapist demonstrating how to alleviate TMJ with proper pillow alignment.
