Evan-Moor Giant Science Teacher Resource Book, Grade 1 to 4

We have gotten so much use out of this book for supplements in our curriculum..I don't have enough space to encourage every science loving family to purchase this!

I needed a science book for my son who is developmentally delayed. Most of them were too complicated or over his level. I love this book because it starts out easy with learning about plants , and stuff is laid out in simpler form with pictures and graphics that explain things in an easy way. I am not good at science so even for me it was easy to follow. I highly recommend it.

This is a great science supplement to our homeschool science curriculum. It seems that no matter what we are studying, I can find a page or series of pages that expand on the topic and provide some written work to cement concepts.

I ordered this book to use as a resource for planning science lessons. I teach students in grades K-2 and this book is designed for students from the 1st through the 6th grade. I was hoping that there would be quite a bit for the young students in my classes. One of the things I was excited about was the fact that this book covers all branches of science--life science, earth science, and physical science. After receiving the book, I took the time to really look through it and see what could be used in my class. There are definitely sections that are geared toward early elementary students and other sections that are geared toward the upper levels. Unfortunately, there were not materials for each unit that would span all grade levels. If there were, this would allow for differentiation for the struggling and also the gifted students in the classroom. In addition, I do have some other products from Evan-Moor (such as Plants, Grades 1-3 ) and some of the reproducibles in the Resource Book are identical to what is found in the individual unit books. Overall, I am pleased with content in the resource book. However, the usefulness of the book depends on what units you are teaching to a particular grade--this book will most likely not be the only source of supplemental material you will need.

Plain black and white outline images, diagrams, charts, flashcards, etc. fill this book. Each page is good for coloring in and then making notebooking pages or minibooks for a lapbook. A great supplement book to any science curriculum for elementary grades. I'd say it's too simplistic for grades 5-6.

I am using this along side Abeka Science Curriculum in my homeschooling with multiple grade levels of children. It is a great resource! It provides the extra projects and activities we need to go along with our reading and testing.

the book is great; however, the bag it was shipped in was stuffed into our mailbox causing the corner to be creased. I didn't want to pay postage to return the item so I just kept it creased corner and all

The cover says The Giant Science Resource Book is for grades 1-6, but the activities are far too simple for most 5th and 6th graders. If you need reproducibles for older elementary children, The 100+ Series Science Enrichment, grades 5-6, is a book of 100 reproducibles that is a much better match for this age; it is challenging and covers an array of science topics that are pertinent to this age level.
