Very Nice Looking Desk
This looks very nice in the room. I don't believe that it will hold up to multiple moves but not any worse than other particle board constructed furniture. The assembly was very straight forward and was pretty well laid out in the instructions. There are also QR codes to YouTube videos that are hosted on their site (sauder.com). The complaint here is that the QR code takes you to a site that is not https so it is flagged as unsafe, this should be easy to resolve by Sauder and absolutely should be fixed. The fitment of the hardware and the materials was on target with only a couple of areas that could have been just a bit better for tolerances or alignment. One issue was that part 'Y' (one of the legs) in step 3 didn't have a decal and I didn't see it in the box indicating that it wasn't there to start with. Some of the part numbers are stamped and others have stickers. In this case the other legs all had stickers and 'Y' was not marked with either method. Process of elimination allowed me to find it but had another not been marked it would have taken some research into the parts pre drilled holes to determine this part. Step 10 has you install part 'Z' which shows the finish surface on one side but the end has a finished and unfinished surface. I took the time to ensure that it was oriented finished end toward the front but it appeared it may screw in either way. Also incorrect orientation would likely end up with the drawer rail being incorrectly aligned. Step 19 has 4 sub steps and in sub step 1 there is a not telling you which hardware and the number used (very nice addition throughout) but I took a double take. It indicated 10 used in this step, meaning in step 19 not the sub step, which only uses 5. Not a big deal but could easily be improved by stating 10 used in step 19 to be much more clear. None of these missing instruction improvements would prevent a person who is paying attention from assembly it would just make it that much clearer. The drawer slides have a slot for the front screw allowing for slight vertical adjustment to square the drawers up after installation and I find that to be a nice touch. If you have ever put together this style of furniture without that you are limited in aligning the drawers to one another or with the frame of the desk. A nice touch is the recess in the desktop that supports their Qi charger (Item 425905) over the drawer section so you could just set your wireless charge capable device over the target sticker (that comes with item 425905) to charge. I was unaware of this in their listing on Amazon as it didn't mention it and should be added (it is mentioned in the listing on the Sauder website). There are book shelves, dressers, a lateral file, and even an armoire available that are in the Carson Forge style for complimentary looking furniture. Overall a great product and assembly experience.

Perfect color!
One of the best purchases Iโve made, sturdy, quality desk and beautiful ๐ sometimes the drawer over the seat catches a little when you open it but thatโs the only somewhat negative thing about it. I absolutely love it! Great color

Very nice looking and solid desk for the money
I just received and assembled this today, and am writing this short review from a keyboard sitting on it.First of all, the box it is shipped in is, as you might expect, fairly large (mostly long, as it has to include the desktop piece, after all), and quite heavy. The shipping slip said 122lbs, and it feels every ounce of it, especially as there is no place to really grab it. It was left at my door, and I was able to bring it inside, although not super easily. I am a male, 6'3, and over 220lbs, just for reference. If you are a smaller person, you may need help.I was placing the desk upstairs, and being by myself, there was no way to carry the box up alone - I just took the pieces up over several loads.I was pleased to see that the instructions were mostly foolproof. It will take a while to assemble - I think it took me all of four hours, although I suppose I could have done it in three. I was trying to not make some dumb mistake, so I was double checking myself. Nothing too difficult, it's just quite a few pieces to put together. You'll mostly use a phillips head screwdriver.Build quality is good, I would say, as far as these cheaper desks go. I did run into two minor instances, one where a piece of decorative wood didn't want to slide over a pair of screw, so I just didn't use it (you really don't notice it), and also one wood dowel hole didn't quite easily line up, so I skipped it.One drawer rubs when I open or close it, but I'm pretty sure I can fix that, there is some play in the screwholes for the drawer runners. Call that user error.I am pretty pleased for the price. The desk feels very solid - you don't get any wobbling or shaking from normal use, you really need to try to make it shake. I have it on a carpeted floor. Very nice looking, too. Leg room under the desk is very ample, I'd say.For the price, I would definitely recommend this for people who don't have an issue doing the assembly. Assembly is quite straightforward, you just need to set aside the time. I would love to have a solid cherry desk just like this, but it would be very heavy, and expensive. This fits the bill for me.

Quality desk at a great value.
I paid $211 before tax to buy this desk as an early Xmas present for my wife: the desk is beautiful, my wife loves it, and I consider the price more than fair. It's heavy, of course, slightly over 100 lbs, and the assembly appeared daunting enough ( a lot of hardware) that I paid someone $50 to do it. Daniel works on houses for a living and it took him just over 2 hours to assemble the desk - which means it would take most people an entire day (he's very fast). Here's a tip I discovered when I was still considering doing it myself. Most, or all of the larger, darker pieces have stickers on them, part A, B, C, etc. However, on the smaller, lighter-colored pieces I didn't see any stickers, so I was thinking all the pieces weren't marked. Upon closer inspection, however, I noticed the letter and number were lightly carved into them. It's fairly small; you have to look close. Which brings me to the part I was most impressed with. Customer service. Part D37 was broken on arrival. I had Daniel use it anyway, but I called customer service to ask for that piece in case mine didn't hold up. I can't remember if there was an automated system, but if there was it was short and to the point - not the type that makes me want to fling the phone through the window. I do remember that it took almost no time before I was speaking to this really nice lady named Abby who apologized for the inconvenience, asked for the minimum order details, and said the piece would be in the mail by the next morning at the latest. The whole phone call took 2-3 minutes, and the piece was in my hand in about 5 days. You don't see customer service like that anymore! At least I don't. Thank you, Abby. Thank you, Sauder. I came away impressed by your company.

Very pleased with the quality of this furniture
If you're looking for a quality desk that looks like home furniture vs. something for an office, this is for you. I really like the look, color, quality of the wood, accent pieces like drawer handles and metal covers for desk feet, and how long and slender this sturdy desk is. Perfect for putting things like books and papers on one side and still have plenty of room for my laptop, cell phone holder and two lamps. It was far easier to assemble than I anticipated. How nice that the instructions are written by someone for whom English is their primary language. The illustrations on all the parts and which screw or bolt to use was made very clear with corresponding numbers on each piece and they even have URLs listed on each page that you can refer to and see how it's assembled at each stage. It took me about four hours total, including putting some of the pieces together while sitting in a chair watching TV and stopping for lunch. I'm very pleased with this desk and have received compliments from guests who say that it doesn't look like it came from a kit. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good desk at a very reasonable price.

Fantastic assembly instructions, great quality
This is a very well designed piece of furniture and I give it 5 stars. I was looking for a smaller type desk to start at-home school, and this is a good size with only the drawers on one size - which fit in a smaller bedroom space perfectly. It was a bit of an extensive build, but the manual was very well written and illustrated (with perfect English grammar!). For example, there were shown-to-size picture callouts for the screws to ensure that you were using the correct size/types. The drawers were the only issue that I had in the building of this furniture, as there were some clearance issues that had to get addressed with some shimming of where the drawer slides mounted internally as well as where the drawers screwed into the slides. It was a tolerance issue which made it frustrating at first, though there was enough give to work with the setup. So, if you run into this issue know that there is hope to fix it!There are also some nice touches to the piece. First, the cherry colors is really pretty with a nice sheen/pop to it. The criss-cross sides make it feel more upscale. And the optional keyboard drawer is a nice additionalโฆ. though we uses this for notebooks/binders between each โclass subjectโ switch. Good for its design and build, and also feel pretty study to be able to get through to the college years!

It is just "ok" for the money.
Understanding this is only a $200 desk is the key, because yes it is particle board, but that is to be expected for the price. The desk still looks very nice and is built well enough. The problems we experienced with this desk were two-fold:1) The first shipment arrived damaged. The top of the desk had multiple cracks all over it, with some of them stretching all the way from one side to the other (though no visible damage to the box). Now normally I don't mark a product down a notch for something like that, because when ordering goods that are shipped it's the cost of doing business. However, we sent the first desk back (top marks for amazon's shipping and return policy), but because we liked the desk and the price so much we ordered another of the exact same. The reason this product loses 1-star here is because when the second desk arrived the top of the desk was "chipped" right on the front visible side. Granted it was a small chip, but still, that makes 2 flawed items in a row. Since we are putting the desk in a back room, and we are covering it with a large black desk mat (which covers the chip for the most part), we opted to just keep it the second time around.2) The reason we are removing another star is because after the desk was put together, and we tried to put the drawers in, they didn't line up properly. We are no amateurs, so of course we modified the tracks and adjusted them as much as possible, but even then both drawers still would not line up and close properly. I had to unscrew the tracks to the bottom drawer, re-drill my own holes about 1/2" lower than the factory drilled holes, and then the drawers finally both closed OK. Even so, there is now a small gap between the drawers, so once again minus 1-more-star.I will go ahead and give this product a 3-star rating, because as annoyed as we were with the damages and errant drill holes, we do still like the desk. "Buyer beware though," it will not likely come to you 100% trouble free.

Assembled in under 2 hours
Okay, I bought this desk after reading all the reviews about how difficult and confusing it is to put together, here to tell our story. My husband and I both have our bachelors degree, and we are in a good stable marriage of over 5 years. We have two young kids and one on the way. I went into this warning him that this may take a while, and we should start after our kids go to bed. By 8pm he had everything unpacked and was starting the first step. We easily saw all the labeling, and the directions were very specific. You just have to pay attention to the pictures. We were done by 10pm. Highly recommend 2 screwdrivers (one of ours ratcheted which he LOVED).Fast forward 3 weeks, we love the desk so much we bought another one. This time we put it together while our kids were awake. We set a stopwatch and completed the whole build in 1:46. This is a very reasonable desk to put together, and for something from Amazon, we believe it is decently high quality. Love all the little accent pieces and how sturdy it is. The drawers didn't align as expected, but for the cost, this was a great (double) purchase for us.

For furniture piece that fits in an 8 inch thick box I couldn't be happier with it
IMPRESSED. For furniture piece that fits in an 8 inch thick box I couldn't be happier with it. I usually make my own furniture but sometimes I buy pieces like this and this is the best brand for furniture in a box. This desk could actually be moved from one house to the next and not fall apart during the move. The instructions were awesome. Actually written by a person who speaks English and has assembled it enough times so they included the right details so you can put it together right the first time. Assume this will take a while to put together. Assume at a relaxed pace 3 to 4 hours for the first one. If you are quite proficient, 2 hours. As to the look of the desk, it looks great. As to the function of the drawers, great and adjustable. But they do require tuning so everything works and fits together smoothly.Shipping with prime, 2 days.

I would still repurchase.
Very strong desk! Heavy! It does take a while to put together and there were a few tiny chips on the top of the desk. Not crazy about the finish either because it looks a little fake but overall itโs nice. Itโs pretty thick would and not difficult to assemble, just takes some time.

Nice looking desk
This is a sturdy, nice appearing desk if properly assembled. It is heavy and takes many hours to assemble even if you are experienced with similar items. The directions could be better, though all of the information you need is there if you search for it.
