Gel Nail Polish Starter Kit

Kit included all i needed to try gel at home. Pretty near home manicure with regular polish, plus few quick added steps and hand under lamp after each base/color/topcoat layer. Had my first gel at salon a few months ago and .... LOVED being set before leaving salon and durability. Do NOT (!) love removal but that seems typical at salon or home. I like the light pink color. Light, so needed 3 thin coats to fully cover evenly. The instructions seem all there, though often tough to read through. Product would benefit by highlighting or summarizing steps 1, 2 etc. for we first timers and also easier to read names on bottles. Still, for me the kit is really all I need for now as have removal needs already. Polish endured wonderfully, basically change is more driven by nails growth rather than any key polish fail area. Did seem eventually to want to start peeling up, about 2-1/2 weeks. I am VERY hard on hands working with tools, trying to use nails as tools etc., so truly a winner here. Have the small kit lamp, seemed just fine and actually smaller size is even easier to use and store. So. Very happy with gel overall... key pluses are durability and ability to use hands right away!!! Minus is removal!!! Cost is not a big deal compared to regular system. I also think this polish does not dry up nearly as wuickly as regular stuff, allowing more time to get right ... and want that since on longer and cannot get off easy so my usual trick of cleaning any polish on skin next morning after shower se Bottles are small. I really like this gel nail polish kit. Everything is very easy to use, and the instructions are clear and easy to follow. The bottles included in the kit are very small, but it came with the LED light, so I'm ok with that. I really like how the LED light works, it flashes at 15 seconds, and turns off at 1 minute. The light automatically goes on as soon as you put your fingers under. I'm glad there's no button to push. The polish works just like regular polish (just be careful to avoid your cuticles or skin), but won't try until you cure it with the light. The polish itself is only OK. I found it very streaky and hard to get nice even coverage. I am very happy with the clear coat though. The primer makes the polish really stick to your nails, so if you want to avoid scraping the polish (after soaking), don't use it. The polish does stay on for days and days, I wanted a change after a week, so not sure how long it would last if left alone. Overall, I think this kit is well worth the money and highly recommend it.

I've been doing my own nails since I was 12 and had my system down to a science. Between removing the old nail polish and doing 4 coats( 1 base coat, 2 color coats and a top coat) it took hours. I felt it worked pretty well and I could usually get about a week to a week and a half with no chips(although the polish would be very dull towards the end). As I've gotten older I find it's getting harder and harder to find the time to do my nails and I've also notice my nails have gotten much thinner and more prone to breakage. I've been looking at the at home gel kits for a while and finally took the plunge. So glad I did and I'm not ever going back to regular polish. I've had the kit for about 6 months now. I gone through most of the color and base/top coat it came with and here are a few things I have noticed: PROS In the beginning the polish made my nails so much stronger that they would grow so long I would have to cut them just to be able to type comfortably( and even after I clipped them the polish still would not chip). I could go 3 weeks with my nails looking freshly done until the gap on the new growth made them look bad. One of my friends was so impressed she ended up buying a kit for herself also. Once it's on and bonded it seems pretty much impossible to destroy. I've done gardening, dishes, washed and waxed my car all with my nails still looking freshly manicured for weeks. Also a big potential time saver once you get the bugs worked out. CONS The learning curve can be pretty steep if you run into problems like me. Just keep in mind that this is a whole new way to do your nails and be patient. Luckily there is lots of info on the web to find out how to solve your problems. Limited color selection is another big problem. I had a hard enough time finding the colors I wanted with regular polish and now it's even harder. Removal has been the biggest problem for me. The first time I tried to take off the gel coat by soaking in a bowl of acetone for 20 minutes it did nothing. I ended up filing it all off. As time as gone on, I have stopped using the primer completely and I still find it EXTREMELY difficult to get off. Yes I use VERY thin coats and yes I have been using 100% acetone designed for gel polish. I usually spend alot of time filing off the top layer and then use a cotton ball soaked in the remover and put the plastic nail wraps on (Professional 10pcs Durable Reusable Plastic Nail Art Polish Soak Off Remover Wrap Cleaner Clip Cap Tool). Even with all of this I still end up filling a lot off. In the last month or so my nails are now much more prone to breakage probably due to the damage caused by the removal process. The instructions I received said 30 seconds for the base and top coat and 60 seconds for the color coat. I noticed now they say 15/30. I will try the new times to see if this solves the removal problem. I will also be ordering CND Shellac since that is supposed to be easier to remove. I learned the hard way that if you spill the alcohol on the lamp it will destroy the finish. My lamp still works but looks very beat up. Also the timer on the lamp is very loud and annoying. Overall I'm very happy I found this product and I'm going to stick with it.

This is faster than driving to the nail salon and just about as easy as painting your nails. The manicure really does last for two weeks. Also, the directions are very clear and you get both the one on the outside of the box and another inside. I would have given this five stars except for two downstides: 1. Neither of the kit colors, this and the deep red, are right for me so I had to buy a more neutral color or take the option of leaving my nails clear (do three or four applications of the top/bottom coat if you're leaving them clear). 2. At first, I was concerned about the acetone, especially since I was told it was only sold at stores like Lowe's and Home Depot. There you the least you can buy is a quart, which comes in a big metal can with flammable warnings all over it. Then I discovered that Sally's carries a smaller size in a plastic bottle, which is probably just as flammable but much less intimidating.

Not really. I followed the application instructions yet within a week I had the paint peel off. Also, the pink polish was incredibly transparent and a bit gooey and did not look anything like the picture. Very disappointed as I bought this due to a recommendation.

Es buen producto , pero para que secaran perfectamente , pase el líquido en una toallita en la uña , como último paso , cosa que no viene en el instructivo. De ahí todo bien !!!
