For the most part, I did not have to do any of that. This was an easy install for me. From what I can tell, this is great for the front door or even side door. For me, I chose to put this on my side door as I already have another deadbolt installed at the front door. This is not wifi enabled so you cannot control the lock from your phone unfortunately. It does come with all the parts needed for the installs however you may need your own set of tools to complete it. After installing it you will need to set up a password which is easy just follow the instructions. The pin pad is really nice and it can be locked just by pressing the lock button on the bottom left once you closed. Be sure not to press that button before closing your door. There is no sensor to keep the bolt in so you will damage your door frame and possible the bolt if you slam the door closed on it.Unfortunately you are not able to really set a timer on it as you need to connect to it via phone. The keypad buttons are also fairly sturdy and does not look like it will wear down overtime which is good if you are using the same password although I suggest changing the password here and there. It can store up to 6 different passwords so if you want to give out different passwords you can. If you do not get the password correct on the first five attempts, it will lock on your for five minutes and you cannot put any password in. This device It is water resistant so if your door gets hit by a bit of rain it will be okay. From what I can tell, no water damages. Although I am a bit worried about rust with water and sunlight hitting the lock over a period of time. I would recommend just wipe it down every so often. This device does have a key as well in case you happen to forget the password and need to get in. It runs on four AA batteries which are NOT included and can be replace easily on the inside. My advice is to not pull the cover open as you may break the cover hinge. Use a pen or pencil and press the latch down to open. You can also reset the password by pressing the rest button on the inside or the cover. Also it does have warning signals when battery is running low however you can use a USB cable and battery to temporarily give it power to type in the password and unlock it if you do not have the physical key. Overall I think this product is great. The design is very sturdy and easy to use. You have a keypad control over your door and there is that there is a physical key slot that you can use to open the door which I find to be awesome. Unfortunately it does not have any remote access which is the only down side of this product. The installation was very easy and setting up the password was very simple. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Broke after less than two years ) : *by I***V on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on July 22, 2022* The gear inside the lock broke and as another reviewer said it did not work. Very disappointing! Would not recommend it unless you want to buy a new one every two years. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Disappointed *by K***N on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on June 17, 2020* The product was relatively easy to install, most of the delays were due to my own inattention. The product does look nice. Instructions are poor; the product contains an input port for a USB charging cable, which leaves you with the impression it has a rechargeable battery which is untrue. It uses 4 AA’s. I have no idea what the port is for, they even include a cable, and there’s no mention of it or it’s function in the instructions. I primarily wanted to have these for the auto lock feature. It does auto lock, but only in one direction. If you are coming in from outside and punch in the code, the auto lock will work behind you as you come into the home. But if you are exiting and shutting the door behind you, the auto lock function does not work. Given the price point, I suppose it’s adequate.
