This is an excellent story, so imaginative. Our book club read it and had quite a lively discussion, some people couldn't grasp it at all. But I liked it and when a movie was made I watched it on DVD, just excellent.

Slow start but picks up after the first few chapters
This book seems to have a slow start with background information, which I suppose is necessary, but drags out a little for me. I also do not like the areas in the book that are in italic that seem to have little to know connection with the story, but then I'm no book expert or critic. After a while though, the story gets interesting, albeit with some graphic content regarding animals.

A brilliant and extremely unusual book.Exciting, hardly believable and spiritually uplifting.Equally thoroughly enjoyed by a 70 year old friend and a 10 year old grandson.I only wish I hadn't ever read it because I've used up my chance to read it for the first time which was magical.

Le livre et le film sont beaux, mais cet enregistrement est encore mieux. Il y a tout ce qu'il faut: les vrais accents, l'intonation, l'action. C'est tellement bien lu que chaque phrase impressionne. Le message passe. En écoutant on apprend et on ressent ce que sentent les personnages.Pour tous ceux qui souhaitent apprendre plus sur la relation entre humain et animal et les ressemblances entre religions. Tout tourne autour du respect. Quand nous respectons certains règles nous pouvons vivre ensemble. Une explication de la vie.
