**Q: how do you open picture**
A: I opened it to connect  cables from my old one ,which had expired, soon as I opened it ,it fell to pieces, just threw it in the bin.

**Q: Is it me that is thick :-) How the heck do you open this to be able to solder the wires in?**
A: No you are not!
Its an awful thing, as far as i can remember, undo the screw at front and probably prize off the metal ferule, use a sharp knife or similar.
At the other end where the wire goes in, prize apart or lever open witha smallish screw driver.
Be careful as it will all fall apart along with all the bits inside.
I will honest and say I am not sure if I threw this one away and bought something better, but this may have been the better one.

**Q: Does the have fuse in it**
A: All cigarette style lighter adapter plugs loike these ALWAYS contain a milliamp fuse inside. Ignore the previous answer it is wrong!

**Q: how do you open it so that you can connect wires?**
A: "Fiddly" just doesn't say it for this product and I expect lots of people will accidentally break it and/or spill the parts when attempting to open it. Not a hint of an instruction in sight but connection is at least possible. After unscrewing the top and prizing off the metal ring I gently pushed one handle of a pair of pliers into the opening to force and hold a gap between the two halves then used a Stanley knife to force the gap further down the shaft and it came apart. Be careful when opening as parts could spill and you'll be left with the Krypton Factor challenge of working out how to reassemble it. I did finally get it connected but I suggest looking for a better alternative.
