DannerMen's Reckoning 8" Combat Boot

Like other reviewers, I was sadly disappointed. The boots are incredibly comfortable out of the box, unlike my Acadia Danner boots. The problem: the lace loop in the middle of the boot, for tightening the laces, was missing on the inside of the boot. If you look at the photos you can see the left side of the boot is missing the middle lace loop on the side. Amazon was great - they are sending a different pair. You cannot order this boot from Danner because they are backordered and will not be making more until the have fulfilled their military order.

This is my second pair of Danner Military style boots. My Tanicus are pretty good boots; however, the Reckoning have left me disappointed. I could barely get them on. The tongue is stitched up high which makes it difficult to get your foot into the boot. Mine kept collapsing the heel area blocking me from just slipping in. Also, there's no loop on the back of the boot to assist you in getting it on. I wrote them for a day and by the end was experiencing heel pain from the stiffness of the heel cup.I did like the vibram sole. It is superior to the proprietary sole Danner uses on the Tanicus boot. However, the construction of the Tanicus have made it a much more comfortable boot for me.

Over priced and poorly made. The first shift I had the lining separated from the inside of the boot. In the heel area causing a lot of slideing around and hot spots. Not a good thing at all, using the size recommend by Danners sight and they were a little on the big side. For a hot weather boot the liner is not breathable at all and the vents in the instep are useless. The boot also does not shine up very well and they are very tough to get broken in. I’m only 2 weeks in with these and I’m working with Danner to get the liner issue sorted. I’ll update when I do.

The toe box on these boots is incredibly small. I have narrow feet and never have had issues with shoes or boots being too narrow in the toe box, but these were way too narrow. Practically folded my toes on top of one another. Tried a larger size to see if that would help, nope, still too small. Wasn't going to pay double the price to see if a wide would have worked.

Not worth the 200+ they came defective
