### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Very pleased with a well designed product

*by M***Y on Reviewed in the United States on July 27, 2014*

Reviewed several inexpensive stainless skeletonized-handle dive knives on Amazon and elsewhere, picked this one, and am pleased with this purchase. It seems to be unique and fixes a few complaints leveled at competing products by other reviewers here.Unique features -- (1) Knife has scalloped edges ("Grip Grooves") on handle that make it easier to feel and grip; and (2) has line cutter which most of the other knives omit.Fixes complaints -- (1) Apparently some competing knives come with plastic straps that are disliked and quickly discarded / replaced. This one comes with rubber straps that work well and are reasonable comfortable even against bare skin. (2) Both knife and case have "(made in) Taiwan" markings. Most competing products are apparently made in China, which some purchasers have objected to. (3) Case is a good fit for the knife - secure but with one-handed release possible with a little practice. Some reviewers have complained on competing knives that they can't do one-handed release.Minor fixes -- (1) The knife is a bit loose in the case and prone to rattle in some carry positions. A little nylon cord or Velcro shoved down into the case quickly and easily fixes the problem. (2) The underside of the point end of the case can be a little rough against bare skin depending on how it is worn (if the point end is pressing against a rise in the skin). Filing or grinding off a little excess plastic on the underside fixes this problem. I suspect this issue may be common across the cases, so not stars off for this.Other comments -- (1) I tried heavier rubber replacement straps recommended by other knife purchasers. For my use, the lighter rubber straps or two-sided "One Wrap" Velcro works best for low bulk. (2) The plain edge of the knife is dull out of the box. I believe this is intentional and desirable for traditional applications ... this knife is primarily a poking and prying tool, so a dull edge is sufficient and safer. The serrated edge and the line cutter provide all the cutting capability generally required. That said, a sharp edge can be easily added to the knife if desired, making this a pretty adaptable tool to satisfy multiple uses.Net -- I think Joy Enterprises (makes Fury Tactical - see website) got it right on this product, relative to other suppliers. I plan to try other products of theirs as a result.

It's a perfectly fine knife for other applications

*by C***8 on Reviewed in the United States on October 10, 2016*

TLDR: Don't buy it if you plan to get it wet. This knife, as other reviewers noted, rusts very quickly when exposed to salt water. Of course, that's only a problem if you plan on using it for diving. Mine started to rust within a half hour of being submerged in salt water for the first time. I've used half a tube of Maas polish removing rust after each dive and I finish the process each time by wiping it with mineral oil. None of it matters, and the rust is inevitable. Do not buy this for diving.Another reviewer seemed to be defending the knife when he or she said all knives require care. This is true, but not to the extent this knife does. A dive knife should not require rust removal after every dive. It's a perfectly fine knife for other applications, but it's made of a much too high carbon steel for any application that requires exposure to salt water. The dive knife I owned before this was a 300-399 grade stainless and it never rusted in the six years I had it. I could dive, forget to rinse salt water off, and pick it up several days later to find no rust or corrosion. Of course the downside of low-carbon steel is that it doesn't hold an edge well and is relatively soft, but for diving that doesn't matter much. An edge on a dive knife is pretty pointless as long as it has a notch for cutting line. I only use my dive knives to spike fish after I spear them and the 300-series steel never failed to do that.I haven't had any trouble with the sheath or straps as some others have. I've gone on at least a dozen trips with this knife and they are still intact.I gave it two stars instead of one because it's so cheap, and because you could probably put it to good use in dry applications.

For the price it's not terrible, you get a mean looking double edged blade ...

*by B***T on Reviewed in the United States on May 4, 2016*

For the price it's not terrible, you get a mean looking double edged blade with a half serrated edge and a line cutter inlet, there was barely an edge to speak of it came stupidly dull out of the box but once sharpened it's made out of a hard steel that should hold the edge moderately well. If you don't know how to sharpen your blade you might want to pay more for one where they actually do it for you. Being made in Taiwan is a plus too I suppose. The holster is rather useless out of the box, the release is difficult to do one handed quickly and nothing in the sheath holds it so it knocks around inside. I ended up just tearing the release mechanic off and sticking some odd scraps of velcro tape into the sheath to hold the blade firmly. The included straps are nice though.
