desertcart.com: 501 Russian Verbs (Barron's 501 Verbs): 9781438010410: Beyer Jr. Ph.D., Thomas R.: Books Review: I would recommend this book for anyone seriously studying Russian. - This is a big book (6 in. x 9 in.), not a "pocketbook." So, the font is large and easy to read. The book begins with a 26-page tutorial on the Russian verbal system. There are 550 pages of fully conjugated verbs, one verb per page. Each verb is presented in both the imperfect and perfect aspects. Examples of use are given at the bottom of each page. The verbs are presented in alphabetic order, using the Russian Cyrillic alphabet. There is also a 40-page section of practice exercises to help with understanding the basic concepts, and there is an index of all the verbs with page numbers. I would highly recommend this book for both beginning and advanced students. Review: Great Resource for the Russian language student! - Russian verbs can be extremely complex. For example, a single verb can have four different variations (i.e. uni-directional. multi-directional, perfective or imperfective) The conjugation can be very different for each one. In school when you learn a verb, you don't generally learn all of these variations. This book sets it all up for you in charts. It makes learning these variations much easier. The verbs are in alphabetical order so that it is easy to look up the verb you want. Conjugations are provided. Examples of usage are also provided. Every person serious about learning Russian should have this book!

Buy this
I highly recommend this book and all other books of the 501 verb series. I just read two verbs each day. I might not remember but by the end I know all of the verb grammar by heart without effort to try and remember. And the beginning stuff is in my subconscious anyways. If want to learn Russian this is a good starting point for verbs. This and a general grammar book together are enough of a base. Do this with music or movies and that’s enough to become conversational.

Excellent reference tool for those who are studying a foreign language.
Excellent reference tool for someone who's studying a foreign language. Verbs are listed in alphabetical order and congugated into present, future, past (simple/compound) subjunctive (would, could, should, etc) and other forms. It even gives examples of the essential verbs in sentences. Note: This book is for students who already read Russian. Perfect companion to a Russian dictionary or text books

Great book if you need something physical
Really useful book and I like that they use the verbs in example sentences WITH translation as well so I'm not lost! Text is a good size and easy to read.

Glad to have it
I'm giving this book a workout. Verbs are harder in Russian with aspects, moods, and exceptional spellings, so I'm constantly referring back to it. Also some room in the pages for notes. Some "essential" verbs have examples, but it's mostly for conjugation.

Russian Verbs!!!
OK, I do not care what anyone else says, the language is difficult for an English speaker. I have been able with this book to look up quite a few verbs in order to see what forms they take for the different tenses. And, yes, understanding how the Russian tenses are used is both fascinating and difficult. This is certainly not for a beginner, but it becomes increasingly useful as you learn more about the verbs.

Excellent for someone who wants to learn the most used verbs and their forms - conjugation in all tenses. It's very satisfying, and great for the brain, to study foreign language based on a completely different alphabet.
