I was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 29 this past July, and as such, had to undergo chemo and more recently, surgery (but chemo worked! So it was worth all the misery). I unfortunately gained 15 lbs with chemo (steroids and chemotherapy-induced menopause somehow outweigh the nausea, although I am eternally grateful for Zofran), and it also made me anemic, so the fatigue was a lingering side effect. Based on the recommendation of literally every health professional at my cancer center, exercise can actually counteract the fatigue and make me feel better about my recent weight gain. I knew after surgery I would be barred from exercise for awhile, but walking is pretty much always acceptable, and I knew the Cubii would be pretty low impact/not require arm movement. I use it while watching tv and sitting on an exercise ball (in a base, because I didn’t survive cancer and cancer treatment just to roll away and break a leg), and it syncs to my Fitbit so I actually get steps counted (versus my arm exercises that trick my Fitbit into thinking I’m active). I love it. I actually wish I’d gotten it earlier in treatment. So while I’m sure it’s a great at-work device, it’s also great for cancer patients - it’s made me feel more like a productive person if I can hit my basic goals (and yes, it does somewhat help with the fatigue). ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ love it, almost silent, super heavy ... it's more heavy than you think *by K***R on Reviewed in the United States on March 1, 2019* Update ... I ended up giving it to a family member who needed it. The weight is really a downside. They market it as portable, but it really isn't that portable. It's perfect if you are going to leave it in one place and never move it. Of course, now I have a knee injury and need something like this but I am going to purchase a lighter brand ... I feel like 23 pounds (the one I am looking at) is a huge difference compared to over 27#.This seems to be a very well built machine and is almost completely silent when in use. I wish it was easier to adjust the position of the device and the chair more easily when the wheel locks are in place. It takes a while for me to get the angle on the device, the angle on the chair, and the distance of the chair the way I want it. I sit turned to the left monitor (I have two), so everything needs to be on an angle so my legs are still straight when I use the Cubii. I realize if I switched to a chair without roller wheels it would be easier, but I'm not giving up my super supportive chair. With how heavy it is anyway, I'm surprised they didn't just put a charger in there so you could pedal and charge the device as an alternative to having it plugged in all of the time.Pros:-Super easy to put together.-Very quiet, almost silent.-the App works fine for me but I wish it included a %battery and not just a visual bar (I like numbers) and an indicator that it is charging.-addicting to use, maybe too much without working up to it because I think it uses different muscles than my typical walking or workout videos (I am feeling like I am getting shin splints just from 0.5 miles and today is the first day using it) from using it on and off while surfing the internet for an hour.Cons:-Very heavy, especially when you consider you will be moving it around underneath a desk, which makes it difficult to use proper body mechanics. However, the heaviness does help keep it in place, so not a total con.-I had hoped to move this to other rooms when doing different activities, but I am afraid it's staying right where it is.-The port where the micro USB goes in does not seem to be that well made, compared to the rest of the Cubii. it is somewhat difficult to plug in the micro USB and makes me never want to unplug it again either ...
