Chain smothered in WD40 and due to level of rust, left over night. Next day more WD40 applied and chain scrubbed with a wire brush. Both sides and in-between the plates. This took around 20+ minutes. Then the Wurth cleaner was liberally applied. It took nearly the whole can but the end result was well worth the effort and expense. The chain came up like new. Dried off and a non fling dry chain lube applied. NB. Make sure you cover wheel, tyre, floor, etc., as the cleaner and all the gunk will run off cover and stain whatever it gets on.
