Received timely and in good order. Mysteriously I blew a PC power supply within three days, but it would be unfair to blame it on the transformer. My issue is with the noise, however. The humming is loud and gets old really fast.

So when I plugged it up and started using it I noticed a weird smell, but didn't think to much of it until it got strong. According to my Wattage adapter, i was only pulling 1300w when i unplugged it. It was smoking from the sides and it was burning hot to the touch.

Works great. Bought myself one after I sent my brother one for a gift.

This product worked for a while in my kitchen powering a small microwave. I noticed it draws significant power even when the microwave is not really running and I noticed that it always emits a low humming noise. Because of the hum and the power draw, it normally remains unplugged for 90% of the time it's been owned. Although I purchased in 2015 by 2017 I was regularly having outages where it would stop working, then mysteriously work again. Based on what I have now read in the 1 star reviews, it's really no surprise that it's not reliable based on the number of manufacturing defects we've seen. I hate to say it but sites like Amazon are the problem. We've all purchased the lowest bidder so many times that reputable US brands that make products that last no longer exist. This not only fills unemployment lines but also landfills. Thank goodness I get to write this review so that at least you may spend a few dollars more on something. I have combed all the reviews and didn't find a single product that either didn't have serious safety /reliability concerns (based on what seem to be technical and highly reliable comments) or was made in the U.S. . If you want to buy a medical grade Tripp-lite for $1000 that may be too big for your operating space... that's probably your safest most reliable option. I will be trying a Philmore although I don't see any ratings at all on those yet.
