Review: Still in love with the razor (again)! --- UPDATE 2021 (see below) - UPDATE March 2021: I received the razor 10½ years ago through the desertcart Vine Review Program, and have replaced many of the heads and blades over the years. Not only does the ORIGINAL razor still work (even the battery is still working amazingly well after more than a decade!!!), but these blades/head work wonderfully. Every year or so when I replace them, I haven't realized just how much harder it is to get a good close shave after a year or so of wear - until I pop the replacement foil head and blades in and start shaving. MARVELOUS! If this razor ever does die, and they still make the same model, it's a automatic purchase for me. I've been shaving for over 60 years, usually with an electric razor, and this is by far the best razor I've ever used (and I've had a lot over all that time. I'm truly amazed, to be quite honest. NOTHING lasts 10+ years anymore, yet this razor and even its batter are still doing just fine. And the foil/blades last somewhat over a year (I think they recommend replacement about every 18 months, but I don't remember for sure - I've got a very heavy and thick beard, so I'm not at all unhappy with these lasting over a year each.) Panasonic has hit a grand slam with this razor and the replacement blades. And no, I own no Panasonic stock, and no one I know works for them as far as I know. As long as they make this razor and the blades/foil to go with it, I will have no need to even try out another razor - it's that good.

**Q: Will this set also fit the ES-LA63 or is the LA63-S different?**
A: I just bought this set, and the outer foil was a completely different design so it would not fit my ES-LA63

**Q: Has anyone else noticed that these replacement blades are getting really dull around the 6 month mark, compared to a new set?**
A: Mine last 2 or more years because after every shave I hold the shaver head (foil & blades) in a small bowl with rubbing alcohol and run the razor for about 30 seconds. Then I remove the foil and do it again, submerging the exposed blades in the alcohol and running the razor another 30 seconds or so. I let them air dry, put the foil back on and put my razor away.

**Q: Panasonic should sell the foil separately from the blades since the foil should be replace annually and the blades every two years.  Is it available?**
A: You can order them separately. The foil is wes9165pc.

Every year or so when I replace them, I haven't realized just how much harder it is to get a good close shave after a year or so of wear - until I pop the replacement foil head and blades in and start shaving. I have one of the fairly expensive Panasonics (seems to be lasting longer than cheaper ones I've owned before). I've replaced the blades and foil twice now and am nearly due for a third set. I love Panasonics, and I love the ability to use the razor wet - so much closer and more comfortable. The razor is like new with a replacement - I have zero complaints about quality or ease of replacement. Still, I take off one star because it's hard for me to believe that I'm not being ripped off a bit. No moving parts - nothing terribly complex here. I doubt that it costs much to produce. Could be wrong, but...
