I am a size 22 in dresses, with a 40 inch waist and 53 inch hip, and I usually wear a size 2x in most clothes. I had ordered a size up since the instructions said to do so if one is between sizes and when I ordered this I had a 56 inch hip, but the 3x (xxxl) was too large for me -- on the tightest setting it was still loose. I then ordered the 2x which works VERY well for me. I use it to rest my back after a workout because I have to carry heavy bags to my car right after I work out and this can strain my back. For a little while I was making the mistake of cinching it too tight- now I just pull it a LITTLE (like, half an inch or an inch) past where it would fall without stretching, and it supports my back wonderfully. Edit 8/29/2020: after 18 months of fairly regular use, it now requires a tighter cinch since the elastic is more stretched out, but it still works really well. I have run it through the washer a few times (taking the "bones" out and fastening the velcro so that it didn't tangle) and hung it to dry with no issue. I'm changing my review to a 5-star because I didn't expect this length of durability! Excellent product, would definitely purchase again. Also, I saw some complaints about it rolling or sliding off of hips -- if it rolls, you probably have it on too tight, or you need to take the "bones" (the stiff part in the middle of the back) out. On me it bends with my waist curve when I sit, but I took the bones out immediately because I know that will not work with a sharp waist/hip curve. It will slide up your hips over time but literally anything that is not custom-made will do that if you have wider hips than waist. It stays in place well if you are standing or walking. I make sure not to bend at the waist when I wear this unless I am prepared to adjust it immediately. Adjusting it is not difficult unless I'm wearing several layers on top.

Works pretty well. I felt comfortable walking around.

I am a woman that weighs 270 pounds I’m I’m 5 foot three and I wear a size 20 pants and a 3X shirt so I got the 2X I sized down and it is huge. I am currently waiting to exchange it for an extra large. I will keep you posted to see if this fits correctly. I hope this helps anyone that decides to purchase it. quality wise this thing is made very well. I feel like it’s long enough to actually cover a good portion of your butt and lower back if you’re having pain in your lower back sciatic area like I am, so definitely down

I already own a white brace ability I bought from the original website. I only bought this because it's in black. I don't like how the material feels. It's not the same as the original. The black one gives me a rash if worn too long. And it collects alot if body sweat so it smells after a while. The white one I already own is size 4-5xl. Fits perfect. The black I bought from this review is 4xl and it fits a little too big. It sometimes rolls down to my waste. Good support but I prefer the original.

I would give this no stars if I could. A basic waist trainer or some Spanx has more support than this thing, and I'm not exaggerating at all! I was excited because going to the store, you can never find back braces for plus sized people. This came and the construction LOOKED decent enough...fabric almost like resistance bands. But when I put it on, the fabric literally stretched out completely. It's the same material as an elastic band in a pair of sweatpants, and even though it looks thicker, it gives out immediately. It bunches, twists, and has no actual tight hold. The two extra bands do nothing for tightening; no difference when you pull them in place. The back has absolutely no structure or support. Most back braces have a hardened back part, which is essentially the part that helps straighten your spine and helps relieve pain. This one just has a bunch of layers of fabric and nothing else. It folds over and/or creases as soon as I start moving, and the creased fabric digs into my lower back so I'm in two kinds of pain now instead of just one. I would not recommend this to anyone, much less a person experiencing chronic back pain. Look elsewhere. Definitely not worth the money or your time.

Good product overall, nice and sturdy upon initial inspection, but wrong size for my measurements. It also digs into my ribs and hips, doesn't get tight enough, doesn't give good lumbar support, especially if I need to bend over to pick something up, and forces me to bend forward at the hips and SI joints when standing. I was hoping it would give better support to my abdomen since I have a few minor abdominal hernias. The pouch for a hot pack or cold pack is good. And the delivery was very fast. It arrived in less than 24 hours.

it fit well and gave good support

This is one of those best support strap Ive had so far, only one downside to this product is that when wearing, the strap moves up as you sit or bend over. Can get abit annoying however besides that, superb for standing and walking while wearing it all day. I'd still give 5 stars since the comfortability and quality is much better than other straps on market.

It is easy to put on & helps supporting my back. The only thing I'd like is have the velcro to be longer, so I can tighten it as I loose weight

Having a back injury and working as a nurse, I'm on my feet a lot. Prior to the back brace, my back could barely manage post shift activities. Now, wearing this during my shift makes me feel like I can double my steps and standing. Only negative is that the outer Velcro tends to grip and pull brace down. May get better with more practice, overall a very positive outcome for me. My naval measurement is a 58" and purchased 3xl, and brace was almost too big. Seems to be true to size will purchase again if need be.
