Great hidden dashcam!
I have had this camera for over a year and am happy that I have this peace of mind. This camera is super easy to install and works amazingly well with my ATOTO headunit. There was a small issue at the beginning that a lot of customers noted was the fact that it was recording at an extremely low framerate. This is NOT camera's fault but more of a software issue. This issue is EASILY fixed by downloading and updating the software. I have done that in 5 minutes by downloading the ".apk" file on my USB flash drive, and installed it straight from there. The camera uses a USB port and ATOTO headunits usually come with 2 USB ports (1 for camera, other to connect a USB with music/movies/etc or your phone), all you gotta do is connect it to USB and you're good to go. The camera itself is made from metal and feels very quality made and the tape they use is not one of those cheap tapes that peel off after 2 weeks. Mine has been taped for 1.5 years and is still holding strong in Florida heat. The only thing I wish is that hopefully ATOTO will soon update it to a 4k version but regardless, with this version the image is still extremely clear and the angle is wide so it catches the road very well. Additionally, it records quite clearly in the low visibility/night conditions. If you have the ATOTO headunit, you can view the recording right from the headunit on the large screen so the convenience factor of this cannot be beaten. I'll def be buying another one of these for my other car!

Mounting it underneath my Jeep... itโll work just fine, Iโm sure!!!
Feb. 1st, 2021. Bought for $45.00 Since nobody could accurately answer me, this device has a cord length of 18โ from the camera and the cord that it plugs into which goes to USB is 91โ (tad longer than 7โ5โ). [Thatโs .45m and 2.31m respectively] This is actually a very clean unit for what it is. It lags for like half a second but I didnโt notice any motion blur while it did that. I held it in my hand and moved it side to side. It followed just fine, just delayed. At night it actually made the sky light up from the night vision mode and made it look dark blue and I could see more through the camera the when I saw with my own eyes as just a black dark night. I know there are lookalikes for a little cheaper, but they werenโt plug and play with the Atoto A6 Pro, I tried and returned those. With this Atoto camera I just plugged it into the back of the A6 Pro, the only USB I saw, and pressed HD DVR app and it came right up within 2 seconds. Hassle free. I know they โadvised against itโ in the Q/A portion of this page, as any manufacture would since itโs not weatherproof... I am going to figure out how to run this unit and itโs cord underneath my 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Thereโs metal right where the bumper bolts into the body on the very bottom by the lowest 3 10mmโs that hold it in place and then thereโs metal slightly behind that where you would jack the front end up. Might have to go further towards the middle of the car near the transmission area because of the cord length... but this is my camping rig and I want to see underneath it on trails to see if Iโm going to hit any rocks or will have clearance issues. Where the red 3M tape is Iโm going to be placing a metal piece on that and finding a strong magnet to attach to those metal spots on my car. That way I can just easily remove the camera with magnets and then unplug the camera itself from the cord to clean it or store it when Iโm just driving to prolong its life. Idk if I can edit reviews or delete and re-write one, but I will update what I do. And Iโll see if the magnet messes with the camera at all. Guess Iโll find out this weekend maybe. Edit: Undercarriage metal gets wicked hot, as itโs under the engine! I was ignorant. Lol. Magnet did NOT mess with the camera whatsoever and even the heat did just fine, just couldnโt place it near the power steering line as that would have melted this camera after a few hours, so I mounted it underneath. It went just fine, and did just fine. Just be careful how you do it, where you do it :)

It Had One Job, And It Couldn't Do It!
I've got the ATOTO flagship head unit for this dash cam to connect to. The cam records to the micro sd card in the camera, not the head unit memory. Playback from the head unit is at about 1 frame per second, even though playback directly from the memory card on a PC is much higher. The low fram rate is a limitation of the headunit or dash cam hardware. I installed the cam in September 2024. It recorded video nicely. The problem is I only checked the video during the first few weeks after installing the cam. Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago. Imagine my frustration after an auto accident where I was intentionally hit, and there was no video record of it! The memory card only had video of the first 3 months after the cam was first installed! As I tried to find any current video file of the accident, I would see a recent time stamped video, but it was a .tmp video file. Once the .tmp file completed the 3-minute recording it would disappear. So basically the new files were not overwriting the oldest video files, but just disappearing. Gone was the video record of the other driver intentionally causing an accident! ATOTO, in making this dash cam, you had one job, to make a dash cam to record in case of an accident, and you failed miserably. Tech support was not helpful. They only suggested basic things that anyone with a basic understanding of computers and technology would have already done. When I bought the flagship head unit I also purchased every additional add-on, like tire pressure sensors, which also doesn't work properly, even after they replaced two sensors. The head unit itself is ok, but ATOTO is a big disappointment overall in my experience.

Sufficient probably
Works fine. I bought this on a whim with a gift card as a fun plug and play accessory to my very inexpensive Atoto head unit. The picture isn't great but it works consistently and it's way better than having nothing. You're not going to be clearly reading license plates on this unless you're stopped behind them in traffic but if there is an accident it will be fine for showing what happened. If I were actually shopping for a good quality dashcam I'd probably end up buying something higher quality and more expensive but as it was just a toy I got for nothing to accessorize my cheap car stereo, I'm satisfied and don't regret the purchase. If I could give it 3.5 stars I would but I settled on 3.

DVRCAM App keeps crashing
I followed the directions in the owners manual to uninstall the HDDvr app and to download and install the DVRCAM apk. I installed that without incident, however the DVRCAM app will not open. I expected that I would be able to connect the camera to the dash cam video in on my S8 plus, but the connection on the camera was usb only, so since I had two free usb ports (I tried both). It appeared that in the file manager that the device was connected via usb, and there was a little red light inside the body of the camera but none of that mattered since the dvrcam app would not start. If I don't hear from Atoto on how to get this up and running, I guess I will have to send it back. *update Atoto reached out to me and informed me that I purchased the wrong model of camera for my head unit. They processed a return and connected me to the correct model. I am satisfied with the purchase now, and customer service was great.

Good product
Plug and play with Atoto stereos, has good resolution, and it isnโt a bulky in the way dash cam, it is nice slim and discreet.

So easy to plug in and play
So easy to plug in and play if you have the Atoto head unit. Clear vision. Just great peace of mind.
