Fellowes Professional Series Back Support, Black (8037601)

I'm suffering from a lower lumbar injury and have been experiencing chronic pain for 10 months and it has gotten to a point that it's close to unbearable. I lose at least 3 hrs of sleep per night rolling around trying to get out of pain. I'm on a deadline to complete a work project and I've hardly been able to work at my desk. When this product arrived, I had been sitting at my desk for at least 6hrs straight and was coming into a lot of pain. I could hardly hold myself up. I unwrapped it immediately and put it on my chair, so easy and seems like it would fit any chair. Sat down and WOW! What a difference! The way that it aligned my posture and brought me into a position that is comfortable for working. None of the other similar products had an upper back cushion as well or the top strap to hold her up.. This is really helping to get my shoulders back. The cushion is such a nice spoungyness to lean back on and this completely rearranged my posture. You can adjust it higher or lower for your needs and no need to readjust it constantly from slipping around because the strap goes over the top as well as around the back and holds it in place. This product is well made, looks visually pleasing, seems it might be washable as it has some zippers on the cushions, is very functional and so I will also say that it's a good price for an item that's gonna save my back and help me get back to work so I'm not out of house and home soon. Do not hesitate to buy this product or think of ordering any other. Just look no further, seriously. I purchased my Fellowes Professional Series Back Support through the Amazon Warehouse (used-like new condition) to save a few bucks. It installed quickly on my Hon Ignition Task Chair, Black , which while a supportive, comfortable office chair - isn't the best on my back for long computer sessions. Playing with the placement of the back support straps and then cinching them into position takes a little time, and with this chair the fit isn't ideal, but truly I think it can be adapted to fit most office chairs assuming they are not 'manager or executive' types with extra tall or wide backs. Very little info comes with this item, but the best fit is achieved by moving it around until you feel comfortable. For me, that means the top-center cushion sits between my shoulder blades, about at 'bra strap level'. (Sorry... not sure how to put that any other way!) The lumbar support placed right in the small of my back above my hips pretty much gives me a perfect fit. POINT TO CONSIDER BEFORE PURCHASING: I'm 5'6" and of average weight. I think this product would be a good one for most people 5'4" - 5'8", but taller or shorter folks may not find the fit to be as good. There is no way to increase or diminish the space between the two padded areas. The pads can be removed from each section of the back support, and the cover (with straps attached) can be hand washed or machine washed on low. I am pleased I decided to purchase this product for added comfort while spending extended hours at my desk. It provides me with support for a more comfortable spine alignment, which in turn removed the need for me to get a lift for my feet for proper ergonomics. Nice design, well made, feels good (not too hard or too soft) and will fit different sizes of office chairs via easy strap adjustments. I recommend it!

This is a well-made, well-engineered back support. Far better quality than any of the others I've purchased. I sit many long hours in an office chair working at my sewing machine--after a few hours, my back hurts a lot regardless of the height adjustments, etc. that I make to alleviate and correct the problems. So I bought this back support in hopes it would give me some real relief. The relief has been there, but not total relief (perhaps that's too much to hope for). I can sit for longer than I could before, so that is a good thing, but still not as long as I'd like. The bad thing is that this is not a particularly comfortable support to lean back against--it feels hard and very solid behind me, not cushy and comforting. Perhaps that's the way it's supposed to be. I am short (5'2") and this is a bit tall for my back, so it's been difficult to get it adjusted just right for the small of my back. The straps and fastening setup on this back support do seem to be a lot better than what you usually get, and it does stay on the chair, in the position you want it to be in quite well. I think if you were taller than I am, this would be a very good support. The quality is certainly superior.

For many years, I have used a mesh style back support, but it wasn't doing the job anymore. The strap configuration is such that it will fit a variety of chairs, and I am using it on a wooden chair at my kitchen table. The gel padding is sturdy and supportive, and has a slight give. My old back support was mesh, and I had tried traditional pillow styles, and I found them uncomfortably warm. I worried this style might be less ventilated than the mesh and I'd be hot, but I do not notice a temperature difference in that way. I am very pleased with the feel, look, and quality of this item, I expect it to last a long time.

Love the support but the bottom too straps are too short. Needs to legthen those straps or provide extenders.

When I strained my back in December I noticed, more than usual, that my office chair was torturing me. I installed this support system and can work comfortably. Later, when I left the position, I found it fits most chairs. It fits awkwardly on my secretary chair in the office at home but works well enough to be useful. One word of caution. Get used to adjusting it every so often and when you first sit down. You will want to make sure the orientation is as shown in the picture. Installing it is easier if you learn a few tricks: 1. Install the top sling and one the arm slings first over the top of the chair. 2. Tighten slightly. 3. Pull the other, loose, sling in place and clip it. 4. Tighten all slings to align. Take care with the clips that you don't break them by forcing the male piece into the female piece. It helps to pinch the male piece so that they glide into the female. Within a few hours, my back felt much better. I was using a cane for 3 weeks. Apparently, the makers have added zippers to the pads allowing them to be replaced when compressed in place or aged. If I were to improve this support it would be by adding an adjustable vertical strip of plastic to set the pads in place. If this review helped, please add your vote.

This back support add on for my chair is a life saver. It hits you perfectly in an upside down T shape right under your shoulder blades. It keeps you sitting up straighter, but not so straight that it's uncomfortable. The cushion part isn't some cheap material that will wear down in a month. It's very sturdy and high quality. I love everything about this item. It's the 2nd one I've owned. I lost a piece of the first one, which is the only reason I had to buy a 2nd one. Definitely worth the money and works on just about any kind of chair. My office chair is an oversize (plus size) chair, so the back is quite wide. The straps on this item still stretched and clasped just fine. Highly recommend.

June 1, 2018: Almost 3 years later, I need to re-order. And, not because the product gave out. Put my support in a spare LLV while mine was in service, and they took back the spare along with my support. The straps were a bit stretch out, but amazed that they held at all points. So, off to order another! BTW, the paddings are zippered in, so you can wash when it gets a bit funky. June 6, 2015: I typically do not leave many reviews, but wanted to for any postal carriers out there. I have 3 bad thoracic (mid back) discs and this provides much needed support. Anyone who drives a LLV knows how incredibly poor the ergonomic design is for our driver seats. I've looked into numerous back supports and they are either too deep and leave little room for your posterior to seat comfortably or they are too flimsy to hold up to numerous dismounts throughout the day. The 3 point harness keeps the support in place fairly well. The only problem is that our seats have the integrated headrest that essentially makes the seat super tall (like a high back Executive chair). This causes the support to ride up on occasion. A few times throughout the day I have to readjust and push the support back down. A minor inconvenience considering the relief I get from having it. I'm no longer hunched over all day. I can sit up straight with support and my shoulders have room to roll back. By far, one of the best investments I have made recently. If you add up all the hours spent driving and put a price tag on being more comfortable during that time, how much would you pay?

I have an Aeron chair, which still doesn't give me very good lower back support (never mind the sales pitch I got that they said it would) and after sitting for a few hours my lower back starts to feel it. I had previously purchased the mesh back type support, which was ok (and very cheap) but when the elastic gave out on the part which holds the support to the chair I thought I'd risk trying this padded version. I only got it as there was a second hand one (as new) for sale at half the price of a new one. The full asking price is very high to take a punt on. Anyway, I am very glad I did purchase it. I find it more comfortable than the mesh type support. The straps holding the pads to the chair are a lot better than a piece of elastic (so they should be for the price) and should be long enough and adjustable enough for any office chair. The three pads hit all the right spots for me.

This product is not for everyone, and certainly not for every chair. However, this was PERFECT for my oversized chair. I have used at least 2 different seat cushions, and 3 other different lumbar support pillows. This one has been the best so far. Big chair vs Small chair: - My chair was too big in every way. The width of this product makes it so my back can rest on it, and actually get additional support. I can imagine that people who use chairs that are smaller, or at least their size, will have a problem with this product making their seat too small. For me, it was perfect. Adjustable: 4.5/5 - The straps can be adjusted so you can make it tighter/looser, or higher/lower - Not as adjustable as it would be if it had separate pieces, but it suited my needs perfectly; I suffer from back pain, but this product has helped a LOT with that Pain relief: 5/5 - The pads are quite solid, and provide a lot of support; however they are also soft enough to not cause pressure points, based on my usage - I spend a LOT of time on the computer and this product has made a huge difference. It's not a miracle product, but it fits my oversized chair perfectly.

Il prodotto è meglio di quello che sembra, si adatta a qualsiasi tipo di sedia, consente di assumere una postura corretta. i cuscinetti morbidi si adattatto alla conformazione della schiena e non scaldano poi tanto. la forma particolare (scapole libere), invoglia a non curvarsi su se stessi. Personalmente ho migliorato di molto le tensioni muscolari che avvertivo prima.

The item suits my purposing it. I had hoped that there would be more cushion, but it serves its purpose for now.
