After over 7 years and having saved my life, the last Simple Human kitchen trash can needed to be replaced. We LOVE the dispenser for the bags and this can is even better than the last one! The bags fit snuggly and are heavy duty. We could not be more pleased. (YES! The old can saved my life. The distance between our refrigerator and the wall across from it is 5 ft. I slipped on a very slippery waxed floor in socked feet and fell looking at the refrigerator with my back to the wall where we had the trash can. Had the can not been there, and broken my fall, my neck would surely have snapped when I landed. I took the dents out and we kept that trash can for years until the lid opening mechanism finally broke.)

I never knew a trash can could be beautiful until I purchased this product. Although it is pricey, I was thankful to have gotten it on sale. It is very sturdy and well-designed. The lid opens and closes slowly, which I think will help it last longer. The size is just right, and I appreciate the trash bag storage compartment located inside the trash bin. I also like that it came with an air freshener pod.

I hesitated buying this trashcan because it’s a 45 L. Our previous trashcan was the earlier model from Simple Human, which was a 50 L. I liked that one a lot. I was also worried about whether I could still use glad forceflex kitchen trash bags. They were a tight squeeze on our old trashcan, but I just felt like that held them on better. We have been using this trashcan for a couple of months now, and I love it! The 13 gallon kitchen trash bags fit perfectly. I’m still using the glad force flex. They are not a tight squeeze so they’re easier to get on and off. At first I was worried that they wouldn’t hold on as well, but they are very secure. This is an huge improvement on the old trashcan. I look back now, and realize how much we struggled to get those tightly fitted bags onto the liner compared to now. Because there is no liner, like with the old trashcan, taking out the trash and replacing the bag is a more streamlined process. The trashcan also is visibly smaller, which I like. Presumably because it’s 5 L smaller (a difference I have not noticed), and because there is no liner (that plastic bin that goes inside the trashcan that I had to remove from the can each time I wanted to change out the bag). I was worried that the size difference would be a problem because we generate a lot of trash with five people in our household and frequent guests. But I find we are filling the trashcan at the same rate as before. Aesthetically, the trashcan is also a winner. Every family member commented on it. They were all impressed with the look. I’m extremely happy with this trashcan. If you are on the fence, I would definitely recommend getting it.

Best trash can I bought. I wasn’t sure about the quality because I had read some reviews of dints and bends but mine came really nicely packed and looks and performs amazing as well. I try it out with placing trash inside and it holds a lot. I place my feet on the lid opening and it opens very smoothly and it works nicely as well we don’t have animals but I’m pretty sure that the can’t get into my trash. It doesn’t weight a lot. Love it also it has an odor pod that you can invest on Amazon or through directly to the company but I would just get them on Amazon. It smells really nicely. Also comes with a refrigerator reminder for bags. My new beautiful trash can love it 🥰

My third Simplhuman trash receptacle for my kitchen. They are pricy but the quality there. This one is of perfect height for the space it's in. Very quiet lid mechanism . I was disappointed it didn't have the inner basket but don't let that stop you from purchasing this can man.🤗

I would give this all five stars but for the fact that every step to open is accompanied by a loud, annoying squeaking from the mechanism. For the record, I weigh about 100 pounds and have not stomped on the pedal, just go with a light step. I had been using the can for less than a week when these sound effects began. I have tried moving it here and there, but it doesn't seem to be due to imbalance or surface issues beneath the can. I owned a Simple Human step to open can, without the slow close lid feature, for about 10 years before the opening of the lid mechanics failed. I'm not optimistic this one will make it that long. I like the look of this trash can, it wipes clean with a light stroke of a damp microfiber cloth. The sample liners included with the can fit very snugly around the top, which is then completely covered when the lid closes. It does require a little care in positioning the bag to fit. They are also very easy to remove. The storing of the liners in the back of the can is a feature I really like; you just pull the bag through the inside of the can and voila! Although the replacement bags are a bit more expensive, they really are high quality - if that's the sort of thing you don't mind paying for.

I was looking for a decent looking trash can... Not even kidding I have gotten so many compliments on this trash can. Even came with bag refills to try which are great but can't beat Sam's/Costco prices for 200 trash bags. It did also come with a scent pod that has a designated spot built in I will be buying refills. Trash can always smells great (never thought I would say that)! Highly recommend this product and all SimpleHuman products I got the papertowel roll holder and it is awesome, I never would have thought twice about such simple products but they do feel luxury for a fairly reasonable price!

Like some other reviewers, I never thought I'd be reviewing a bin but.... I gave in and splurged out on an expensive bin for the kitchen, the place where a bin gets used most often. I have an engineering background so understood better design, engineering and materials cost more but was always reluctant for a bin of such expense until I had enough of buy cheaper to medium priced ones that would last around a year or two, that would start fail before that and basically I'd keep using them whilst broken or misfunctioning with sheer frustration but not this time. Many of the people I knew either had Brabantia, which can cost a lot too, of good quality but I didn't like the designs and function, it didnt work for me but I knew why they cost so much. They worked, worked well. I wanted function and form and this model fits perfectly, literally. I wanted a rectangular to square shape as it's more efficient and would fit better under our kitchen space, under the countertop space. Had to be foot operated, which I see as more hygienic and functional when both hands are full. The wide foot pedal is a delight, doesn't require too much pressure and the soft close is great, altogether a different mechanism to all the pedal bins I've had (several in a few years). The weight, although slighly light with a slight wobble at first, it doesnt slide about on the quarry tiled floor as the rubber feeted base grips and over time when it stats to fill up theres no wobble at all. The design is classy and chic, with a nice matt sheen, quality stainless steel body and truly fits the part. I'm not going to say it's life changing but I feel assured it will last several years easily, with the company standing behind it with a 10 year guarantee, that to me is worth the cost in the grand scheme of things. Enough said.

Ja, er hat seinen Preis, aber er hält ewig, ist extrem stabil (kein Vergleich zu günstigen Treteimern, deren Pedal nach 2 Jahren defekt ist) und sieht dazu noch top aus! Er lässt sich leicht reinigen. Besonders gefällt mir auch, dass man den Rand des Müllbeutels nicht sieht und dadurch der Beutel auch noch fest im Eimer hält. Ich hatte Glück und einen Retournierten Mülleimer um einiges günstiger erworben. Man sah zwar, dass er schon verwendet wurde, aber Kratzer oder Macken konnte ich nicht entdecken. Einzig der Deckel knarzt beim Schließen, aber da tun es paar Tropfen Öl denke ich 😅 Das gleiche Modell in Edelstahl gebürstet (auch der Deckel) haben wir seit über 5 Jahren in der Küche und der funktioniert wie am ersten Tag. Klare Kaufempfehlung!
