Fun for kids and adults!
After reading all the reviews about this unit stopping erasing after two days, I was hesitant to order. I saw they have a 1 year repair warranty so I went ahead. I've had it for about a month now, and it is working perfectly. We have a 5yo boy and a toddler girl, and they LOVE this thing. The boy has an amazon fire tablet that he likes, but when he isn't playing on that, he is practicing his letters and numbers on this. Absolutely worth $20 bucks. After seeing how good it is, I ordered another two of them for my business, and will order more when the price drops. I would advise watching the price for a while or having a site email you when it gets below $22. I use tracktor, but I suspect any of them will work. Update: 5/20/16. Well, it finally happened. The 1st board I ordered stopped erasing when the button was pressed. I changed the battery, and it still wouldn't work. I emailed the company for warranty info, and then followed up with a phone call. The guy I talked to was named Chris, and he was awesome. He sent out a new board immediately, and it arrived just a couple of days later. No trouble, no fuss, nothing. So while I was sad that the board stopped working, an email and phone call got me a brand new one. I love to see a company stand behind their product, and Kent Display certainly did that! I imagine there must have been a problem with the manufacture of certain boards, but Kent is doing the honorable thing by standing behind their product and making it right for the customer. I have purchased a total of 5 of these boards, and the rest are working well. Great customer service!

GREAT notepad/doodle board! Keeps my autistic 4 year old busy at church
My 4 year old son with autism has never had any interest in coloring with crayons and he likes using pens on paper but gets really aggressive and doesn't stay on the paper. There are doodling apps for iPad but if he has an iPad in his hands (which he adores) he's going to be watching YouTube kids, not drawing with his finger. I was hoping that this device would entice him to practice his pencil holding skills and dexterity, save us going through lots of paper and pens and getting unwanted ink everywhere, and hopefully entertain him at church for a short time, haha! What I like about it is how thin and light it is! I can easily throw this in any bag and not even notice it's there. The color of the marks that appear is vivid green and very appealing. The flat pencil like stylus that comes with the board is easy to hold and manipulate for adults or children. I love that the pencil clips into place at the base of the board so you don't have to worry about it floating loose in a bag or getting lost but you still have the freedom to write uninhibited unlike with those magnetic doodle boards where the stylus is attached by a string. My son likes that it appears somewhat like an iPad and he can push the "home button" to erase and start over as often as he wants. A few things to note: - Yes it is battery operated (1 3V comes pre installed) - No it doesn't have any sort of internal storage, connect to computers or save pictures or doodles - You can scan and save/share your images with a free app on your phone or tablet - It has magnets on the back enabling you to stick it easily to a fridge to jot down notes or display artwork or whatever. It sticks firmly enough not to be dislodged if the fridge door slams shut. That's a great feature - The screen does respond with some degree of sensitivity to the amount of pressure you push down with (see pic) - There is absolutely no delay in either the writing or the erasing. It is instantaneous - Be aware that if you write along the very edges of the screen, the lines will blur and even change color in spots (see pic) All in all this thing is very well made, compact and cool. It does what it advertises to do and does it well. I would definitely recommend! PS: I was NOT given this item free or at a discount in exchange for a review! I paid full price for it and am writing this review just because I want to help other people who are paying full price for stuff too! :D

Long-Lasting - Perfect replacement for sticky notes
I've had one of these for more than 10 years when I found one at a bookstore. It's become my main sticky-note replacement for those 10 years of abuse, travel, boredom in meetings, and having different mounting methods in my notebooks. I've NOT been gentle to mine and it has still lasted this last decade! But, as you can see, the bleeding from the injuries is just getting so bad that I finally got replacements. They're great for the workplace where dry-erase boards get mucky, your marker dies, or you don't want to take the time to erase it. It's not just a "kid" item. I work in a place where you can't just bring your laptop or cell phone with you everywhere, and I hate using a whole page of a notebook for quick notes that I only need to remember long enough to type them up. So this is essential for me. --- Which Item to get: I got one of the same older type, and one of the "newer" models, to compare them to each other, and I would definitely recommend the newer model. It's the one with built-in magnets and a stylus holder. It's much thinner and though the curve makes it seem less "tablet" like, it's still professional looking. The thing I love about this board is that it fits in A5-sized notebooks. I just get some sticky magnet and it will mount perfectly. This will outlast my binder if it lasts me another 10 years! --- Battery Life: The battery on my old one was never changed. It lasted daily use and multiple erases and I still don't need to replace it. It's been on planes, in hot cars, squished in my notebook and I still never worried about it. --- Durability: It's so thin yet durable that I can bring JUST this with me wherever I may need a notebook and I'm not afraid of damaging it or scratching it, but just to prevent accidental marks from travel I would get some sort of cover. The flat face of this one makes it so I can put it on to a photocopier and scan up my notes to keep them forever. --- Quality Control: I've now had three of these; the new ones have no bleeding, and the batteries work. They're "brighter" than my old one as well. No complaints. --- Overall: If you need a replacement for stacks and stacks of sticky notes that get lost or don't stick, this is so cheap yet functional in the workplace that it's been indispensable. If people are buying them for their kids, that also shows their durability and usefulness.

Easy to use and inexpensive.
Every tool has its limitations, and this device is nothing different. It's an absolutely fantastic product for note-taking, especially for $20. It is very helpful and keeps me from wasting pages in my notebook for jotting down notes. A locking button would make it much better, as I have accidentally deleted notes from how I write. A quick and easy solution is to flip it over and write on it like that to avoid accidentally hitting it again. The scanning tool works well but isn't anything fancy. Most of my notes get typed up either way, so not a big deal. But does give you the option to clear the screen without losing notes if you have to. I would also like to see this with a metal cover, rather than plastic. In its current state, it feels paperweight, light, and fragile, so an added metal cover would give it some weight and sturdiness to make it feel more like a premium product. The $9 protective sleeve is worth the investment to prolong its usefulness.

Boogie Board Jot
Replaced our other one which eventually stopped working as it should. This one works great. Seems to be better writing detail.

Short lifespan but customer service stepped-up
Worked good for about 6 months. The battery died and I replaced it with 2 different sets of new batteries, but it never came back to life. I really liked it as it was a great tool to teach my son letters, numbers, shapes and for basic drawing play without going through reams of paper. But, it was short-lived and a subsequent disappointment. I would not recommend. Update: Customer service replied with a great PR statement about wanting to assist. They asked for a copy of my invoice and order number. I looked it up and sent it to them. They then responded "can you give us the serial number?". I told them the item was discarded because I was told the warranty expired, so I did not have the serial number. End of story. Heard nothing since. You would think the manufacturer of an inexpensive $20 item would replace it based on a verified purchase and proof of invoice. It's like I was asking for a replacement on a $2000 item. Buy it knowing it's a use-and-discard product. Update: Someone caved and I was sent two replacement units. They ended up doing the right thing after some pressure, I suppose. I do like the product though, as it's well-suited for a child's basic drawing needs without using a lot of paper.

Buy after reading description!
Great product. No issues after 6 months of use. Better than other similar stuff like ruffpad. Great contrast and quality! Read description well though, erased stuff can't be recovered, no save option, etc.

Works as it should
Previously I bought those cheapos. Upon replacing the battery, they don't really work as well anymore. Gave up and bought the boogie board as I heard good things about it. I think the boogie board SHOULD NOT have such an issue with the battery replacement. I'm happy with how it performs.

My 11 yr old son loves it!
I had been wanting to get this for my son for a while and finally decided to give it to him as an add-on to his birthday this past weekend. He loves doodling on it and it erases at the touch of a button. It is not as bright as it said, and some reviews said it wasn't, but I hoped it would be. It's fine really for a kid to play on but this is really lightweight and seems fragile. I am contemplating getting a cover case for it just to be on the safe side. The price was right at $27.99 for this colour. I really did not want to pay $40 for it as I had seen at some places. I am hoping my son takes it in the car for long rides. He doesn't like to watch movies or play video games because he gets car sick. This might keep him busy but we'll have to wait for the next long distance car ride.
