Essential Baking Company Organic Artisan Sourdough Bread, 18.2 Ounce (Pack of 3)

I was a bit skeptical after reading many of the reviews related to moldy bread. I bought a total of 4 boxes (12 loaves) taking the risk as I got tired of going to the grocery store every other day for a loaf of bread. We love fresh bread with our meals, so went ahead and did it! Best thing ever. I checked all 12 loaves and none had any mold or appeared moldy. Have been storing them in my pantry, love the fact that I don't have to figure a way to store it in my very packed refrigerator or freezer. Eating a loaf every other day and loving it. The flavor is to die for with some good old Irish butter. Reminded me of a fresh baked loaf from a upscale steak house...I am baking them at 400F for 12 minutes... Highly recommend, a bit on the high-end but so worth it.

The only issue with this bread is that it is too good, so we have a hard time controlling our portions. We live in the middle of the Pacific Ocean in a place where sour dough bread is not possible to purchase. I thought I would give this a try. I am so glad I did. I will buying more for sure, and probably going to have to hide it from my husband or he will eat the entire loaf by himself in on sitting because it just tastes so good!

So great to be able to have shelf-stable, yet delicious & organic sourdough bread at the ready whenever you want it. Just pop it in the toaster oven for a few minutes & out comes crunchy-crusted artisanal bread. And not only that, you can re-order it anytime online! What's not to love?

Sour Dough Bread fresh to you when you want it! We were getting this product from Costco but they stopped carrying it. We have never found anything like it that let's us have fresh baked sourdough on demand. It lasts a long time on the shelf and it bakes up deliciously.

This bread makes some of the best toast I've ever had. However, lately I've had to throw some out because, if the seal is broken, the bread molds quickly. That can literally make you sick. Now, I see the price on Amazon has become so high that I won't even buy it and take the risk.

I love the convenience of having fresh baked sour dough when I want. I've gone clean eating and organic sour dough is perfect. The taste is just like San Francisco and the texture is soft on the inside, crunchy on the outside. I just wish it were a little more affordable so I could have it more often.

We got our subscribe and save order yesterday and one of the loaves was covered in mold. See photo. Cannot return it which makes sense for food but leaves us with no recourse. This is our 3rd order of this product. Others were a big hit. Bake a loaf for a dinner party, hot bread in 15 minutes was a big hit. I also cut a thick slice pop it in our air fryer for 8 min for great toast for breakfast. I'm not sure now. One moldy loaf out of 9 makes me suspect the presence of mold in the others. I cannot find the use by date unless it is encoded in the edge printing in my 3rd photo. We received this order 8 May 2024. Maybe "no preservatives" is not a positive. Caveat emptor. 3 weeks after receiving the mold culture I stll have not heard a word from the seller. I canceled subscribe and save and will not buy this product from Amazon. A shame, when not covered in mold we really liked it. We have no respect for a company that does not stand behind its product. ------------------- 7 months later: (25 Jan 2025) These things are good. I have not found a substitute for baking single slices to go with eggs for breakfast. It is very convenient and yummy to pop them into the air fryer for 8 minutes at 380º I am still looking for an alternative the does not have the mold problem. BUT I really don't like moldy bread. At $6 per loaf, I cut off the mold and eat it anyway. If my experience is typical every 3 or 4 orders of 3 loaves will have one with either the white circles or covered in that dark green carpet seen in pictures. So caveat emptor. If you don't like mold and don't want to throw out 1 out of every 10 loaves this product is not for you.
