Each Haynes manual is written for the do-it-yourselfer and provides step-by-step instructions based on a complete disassembly of the vehicle. This hands-on experience provides the reader with specific and detailed instructions for performing everything from basic maintenance and troubleshooting to a complete engine overhaul. The models and model years covered in this title are as follows: Volkswagen Beetle 1954 - 1979 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia 1955 - 1974 This Haynes automotive repair manual includes 700+ photos and the following chapters: Chapter 1: Tune-up and routine maintenance Chapter 2: Engine Chapter 3: Cooling and heating systems Chapter 4: Fuel and exhaust systems Chapter 5: Engine electrical systems Chapter 6: Emissions control systems Chapter 7: Part A: Manual transaxle Chapter 7: Part B: Automatic stick shift Chapter 8: Clutch and driveline Chapter 9: Brakes Chapter 10: Suspension and steering systems Chapter 11: Body Chapter 12: Chassis electrical system Wiring diagrams Review: Good book - Good book for information on VWs Review: Seems To Have More Info Than The Newer Version - Don't know if it's true or not, but I was told to get this version, with the blue Beetle on the cover. The newer version is said to be the same, but they didn't want to pay the fee to VW for a lot of the content, meaning it is missing a ton of tables and torque values. Whether true or not, I grabbed this one and it has been complete so far, though I've only used it for the basics... but the basics are what you usually need. I can quickly find the picture or drawing I need to deal with the basics of the ignition system, valve check, and carburetor. I've also used it on less common stuff, like the windshield wiper motor, where it is slightly less helpful but still has information. Being an older manual it assumes you can just order a new part directly from VW, but the online world is there to rescue you when that comes up. Thy physical binding is no different than any number of Haynes manuals I've owned for different motorcycles over the last 25 years. Solid manual as the quick go-to and lighter than the famous "How to Keep Your Volkswagen Alive" book, so I can keep it at home and I throw this one under the back seat of my '72 Baja Bug in case I'm in a roadside jam and don't want to waste precious cell phone battery.

Lot of Information
I bought a 1966 beetle and needed some info on a few things. I have Haynes Books for every car and truck I own. They are a great way to check things or just use for the how to on your car.

Clair net et précis
Presque le top (le top c'est le Bentley américain), mais proche. On est loin de la revue Tech française et ses photos pourries et ses textes pas clairs. Bon par contre c'est en anglais.
