This may take a bit longer to soften up than the instruction state, but it’s amazing. By far the best product I found for camping (or when the electricity goes out in the winter). Just boil up some water, Ziploc it closed & come back to it later. We will definitely be back for more. This feels like such a healthy option, that doesn’t compromise flavor. The two of us were stuffed sharing one bag. The ingredients were shockingly clean. I recommend it to anybody. Even for regular traveling, I’d packed these along as back up nutrition. They are super lightweight. When you can’t find a decent restaurant, this is an awesome substitute. Two more thing to add, nothing tasted fake or plasticky. We didn’t need an additional snack that evening. It really satisfied our hunger and tasted great. If you hadn’t tried this yet, you are missing out.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: It really didn't taste very good and it wasn't very filling, especially given the calorie count. The lentils remained pretty hard after following the directions to the letter. Was not a fan.

The quantity of food would leave one waiting for more. But it takes little time and effort to prepare. Good nutrición loans of protein.

Got this on a whim. Scarfed it up! Not just because I was hungry either, it was very tasty. I will get more for my next back-country trip.

Curry? Where was the curry? This had NO curry taste. Overall the flavors were very bland. There was some vegetable or bean in the package that never did rehydrate. I have learned that since I usually camp at least at 8,000 ft, that I should double the cooking/soaking time. The instructions were for a 15 min soak. I did 30 minutes but still there was something unidentifiable and without flavor that never rehydrated. The other vegetables had little flavor, and neither did the broth. I also bought another recipe from the same company. This one was so bad I will probably throw the other one out without trying it.

Pros: Very light packaging, good ingredients, good flavor. Cons: not a very big serving, ingredients didn't all cook evenly, kind of bland.

The Katmandu Curry and Shepheard's Pie are two of my favorite meals. Great flavor, all plant based, and high calories keep me going on my extended hunts.

Great, high calorie, healthy option. Full of flavor and worth every cent on a backpacking trip. Ozette tested, backpacker approved.
