This works great! Have one for my axolotl and one for my fish - both used with frozen Bloodworm chunks. It works as a little containing element while the bloodworms defrost and keeps it all tidy. The little puffer fish sometimes even goes inside to eat in peace. Strong magnet, easy to assemble and clean, high quality. Recommended!

Works great, awesome little frozen fish food feeder.
Until I found this very cool fish feeding gadget I would use 1 cup salt water and wait for the food to defrost. Then dump it in the tank. This gadget always allows me to put just the right amount of frozen fish food in. Then it slowly drops down and the fish go nuts. You should see my clown trigger fish going crazy at it. Awesome little device, just bought another I liked this one so much. The major plus is the food stays central to the feeder not polluting the tank. Have yet to try their nori feeder. Thanks for such a nice well made item for my reef tank.

Good solution
I love the strong magnet, and it works as advertised. However, the ring and the two cups are all separate pieces and they fall apart frequently. I know they need to be separate pieces so the feeder can be adjusted (how much you want the holes to line up) but it would be nice if it didn't fall apart all the time.

strong magnet!
Why did you pick this product vs others?: very strong magnet, uses it for brine and mysis shrimp cubes and blocks so i dont have to wait around to thaw it. i stopped using the bottom cut and just use the top cup because if you do leave it in all the time algae does grow and it makes it easier to clog the holes. i do wish it had all large holes instead of the mix of small and large holes. would be nice if it had a couple more holes that let the current through to help mix and thaw the cubes but otherwise pretty happy quality seems very nice and not cheap feeling

Okay, but not a perfect solution.
This is a good tool to get food down below floating plants, if your aquarium has a lot of them as mine does. Floating plants are great for pulling nitrogen and ammonia out of the water, and putting oxygen into it. Plants are the most efficient way o oxygenating a tank; even better than a bubbler, and one can always use a way to remove nitrogen naturally. The problem is that floating plants can make it almost impossible to get food to your fish. That's where this device comes in. it will get the food past all those floating plants. It has a drawback though, and this is why gave it only three stars. in order to get circulation in it to get it to empty all the food, it has to be in the direct flow of your filter. If it's not, much o the food will not all through the holes, and you'll end up with food which the fish can't get to, rotting away in the upper compartment of the feeder. That's a waste of food, and not healthy for your fish. Also, if you have some nano species such as endlers, smaller tetras, Norman's Lampeye, etc will get in the holes in the side of the feeder, and may not be able to find it's way out. You may get a bit of a surprise at the morning feeding when you go to put food in it, and a spooked fish splashes franticly inside the feeder. It's easy to get fish out of it; just turn it on its side an let the fish swim out. But at the same side, it would be nice not to have your fish go through the stress of being trapped in there and not be able to get out until you come along to free it. Before buying this unit, ask yourself if you need it to get food through a thick cover of plants, or if you want to interrupt the flow of your filter and they way it circulates around the water picking up detritus to clean your water. If you're feeding dry food and you need to get through dense surface plants, you might want to consider this as a food delivery system. If you have no surface plants, and don't mind putting this in front of your filter's outlet, then this will be a great solution for feeding frozen foods which need to thaw, such as frozen brine shrimp, frozen bloodworms, and frozen daphnia. But if you have some very small fish or caradina or neo-caradina shrimp, you may want to consider giving it a miss.

If you use frozen food, you need this.
This thing works as advertised. Frozen food used to be a huge pain for me; now it's as simple as dropping it into the top of this feeder and letting the water do the rest. It also works well with certain types of dry food (like small, slow-sinking pellets). Highly recommended.

Falls apart easily
Falls apart easily with the slightest bump from your hand, a fish, a snail, wave maker. I don’t recommend this product. I’ve used it for about a year now and feel like I wasted my money. The parts connect very loosely. Idk maybe I got a defective one.
