My daughter uses them all the time!
My daughter still has an iPhone 4 that she uses to play music. These speakers are great. They are lightweight so she can carry them around with her. We have had them know for a few years and they are still working great, which is saying something because I bought them for a then seven year old. I am sure they have newer versions that fit newer phones. When the time comes that we need to replace them because we replace her phone to play music we will definitely look for the newer version. Compatible with all iPod products with a 30-pin connector (except iPod shuffle)--this includes the newest iPod nano and touch models; also compatible with iPhone, iPhone 3G and 3GS, and iPhone 4 Dig in to your favorite music on your iPhone or iPod while it charges and synchronizes with your PC via USB, and enjoy superb sound quality together with thoroughly unbeatable convenience; let the great tunes go on and on without ever running out of power Neodynium is the best material for producing a strong magnetic field for greater sensitivity in a voice coil, better bass response, and a pure, balanced sound quality Dynamic Bass Boost maximizes your music enjoyment by emphasizing the bass content of the music throughout the range of volume settings--from low to high--at the touch of a button Unit also operates on A/C, with batteries removed.

Does Everything It's Meant to Do
Does this speaker claim to be a Superman among speakers and produce full, high fidelity sound that fills a house? No. But it succeeds at being all it can be. It has very decent sound for the price (if you fool around with the equalizer, which is accessible only through the Fidelio app), it turns your iphone or ipod or laptop or whatever peripheral you have into an awesome source of portable sound, it has a respectable amount of bass (albeit a little muddy), a 1/4" to 1/4" connection, a sleek design, and... wait for it... it can be powered by AA batteries. No, it doesn't have a remote, but this speaker was not meant to sit on a pedestal on one end of your 100 ft. loft with you on the other end in a recliner. However, it does get fairly loud and I can still make out distinct words and instruments from another room. I bought it for a cruise, to replace my jacked JBL creatures for laptop listening, for the patio when I'm screwing in fence planks, for camping trips, and for its incredible value.

Perfect for a small room
I got this for my dorm room and its perfect. I use it with my iPhone 4 and it charges it, works with the case on (I have the snap incase). It is completely shielded so there isn't interference from my phone signal. Also my phone works normally when plugged in - my alarm works and I receive emails, texts and calls. The speakers go loud enough to annoy my neighbors and the sound quality is good. I've also used it with a 3rd generation ipod nano (w/ a silicon case) and a regular ipod and it works well with both. The auxiliary cord is very short so I had to get a new one so that I could comfortably hook the speakers up to my laptop. The only thing I don't really like is that if prompts you to get the philips app whenever you plug in the phone if you don't have it. So I downloaded it, but I never use it cause it doesn't do anything new.

I am blown away!
All I can say is, "wow" at Philips for making an extraordinary looking, sounding, and functioning iPod dock. This conveniently sized unit doesn't clutter your desktop and offers huge bang for the buck. It works great as I don't have to remove my iPhone 4 from it's case, and the sound quality just blew me away. I love every single feature about it. They really did customize it to iPod lovers, all the way down to the (I didn't realize it even came with a) USB cord for syncing right there on the dock! The app automatically downloads and provides some awesome features, including alarm clock and internet radio, (with my favorite, "Local Channels" option which brought up all my favorite Nashville channels---Yes ALL of them, easy to use!) Did I mention that the thing sounds BIG? The acoustics are excellent. I originally ordered it for my office, to charge my phone and listen to quietly, but I see now I'm going to have to order a second one for home. Very few electronics I would order two of, so this is saying something. Unless you are not an iPod lover, you won't be dissapointed! (It has an aux in jack too, but poor you won't get the awesome iPod features.)

Very Disappointed
This has been a disappointing purchase. I've been trying to use it with my iPhone 4s running iOS 6. It was been glitchy, to say the least. Unlike most docking speakers which are simple plug-and-play machines, this requires an app download to use it properly. Without the app, i could not change the volume when playing music or streaming radio. With the app, I was only able to modify the volume when playing music through the app, not through the iPhone's music player or any audio-streaming service. After a few days of this annoyance, it stopped working. The phone displayed a message which read "this accessory is not supported by iPhone." Which is silly, because you can buy it on Apple's website. I tried rebooting, resetting, and restoring the phone, and reinstalling the app. None of this worked. I tried working with Philips customer service and they couldn't help me solve the problem either. They implied that there have been compatibility issues with iOS 6, and that either an iOS or app update in the future could maybe, possibly fix it. The speaker itself works fine because I was able to use an aux cable to test it. One pro, I suppose, is that it sounds pretty good. This device should be simpler than it is. The need to operate it through an app has rendered it useless until an update makes them compatible again. One additional gripe about the app (aside from it ensuring that the dock doesn't work): it's full of redundant junk. It has a clock (my phone already has one of those), and alarm (ditto), weather (ditto), and an audio player (ditto). If I could simply plug my phone in and play music, I'd be very, very happy.

Ordered this product as a gift for a friend. I was expecting the sound quality to be in the 'OK' range. But, we played the some real "banger" songs the quality was pretty good. Only when you max the volume the sound starts breaking up but then for a $90 player this is very good. It fills the whole room with some great party music plus it makes a great corner table decoration! On a side note I wish it had a remote, it is very cumbersome to get up every time to change the music or even as a matter of fact to reduce or increase the volume.
