Exceeding Expectations.
Was Skeptical At First, Due Entirely To Other Reviews About The Pad. As Soon As It Arrived (When It Said It Would) I Immediately Took It Out Of It’s Secured Packaging To Test The Pad. Right From The Box, It Worked Without A Hitch. Just Plug N’ Play. No USB Slot (Thankfully). Very Responsive, It Does Slide On Carpet, But I Expected As Such. If You’re Interested In Buying A Pad, You Can’t Go Wrong With This One. For The Price And Packaging Alone, Is Worth It. It Doesn’t Feel Cheap, And The Cord Is A Generous Length. 5/5 Would Buy Again!

Leave it out of the package for a day or 2 to air out as smells like chemicals
Looks just like the photos and just like the dance pad I had when I played the game when it 1st came out. Right out of the package it has a chemical smell so leave it out for a few days to air out before using. Works exactly as it should and the game is as fun as I remember!

Ok pad
Got this to replace my Red Octane one that died. It took quite a while to break in - lots of crunching noises from a layer inside. But that's gone after a month or two of use. The pad still doesn't always register when I hit it - I think it is worst with the down arrow, but happens with others at times, too. Update 12/25/25 After using this pad for over a year, I declare it is properly broken in. No weird noises, no poorly registering arrows (only user error). Too bad it took a year to break in. I'm raising my original 3 star review up to 4.

Slips and Doesn't Register Buttons
Like the title said, this mat slips all over the place and it's a toss up as to whether you get one that has most of the buttons register some of the time or most of the buttons not register all of the time. I bought 2 pads and othe first works about 85% of the time and the other had only the "x" button work. Unlike the initial pads that came with the game back in the day that had an anti-slip bottom, this one comes with 4 thumb-size sticky pads to hold the mat down on a surface which do absolutely nothing and are made even more useless on carpet. I bought carpet tape and completely covered the bottom of one mat and stuck it to a couple of foam puzzle pieces and though the bottom of the mat is now stable, the top slips, so when you step in any button, the top moves around and makes you miss buttons. Say goodbye to ever getting a streak on any DDR game. Cheap product and not in a good way. I sent one mat back but kept the second because of the tape I'd used on it. If you have the soft mats that came with your game still in working order hold onto them and treasure them because you won't get any nostalgia from these.

Love DDR!
I love playing DDR and for the longest time I only had one generic dance pad. It was fine for a while until I started having more people interested in playing with me. Taking turns was not an option, so I went on the hunt for an inexpensive dance mat that would be what I needed. Instead of buying just one, I bought two of these and they are great! They are exactly what I was looking for and really do the job!! I have had zero issues with them and would highly recommend these if anyone is needing a replacement mat or just wants to try it out! The dancing games are really fun and these mats really work great!

Slippery!
Got this to play DDRMax2. It absolutely works but it’s very slippery and it doesn’t stay still. It comes with little adhesive stickers but once you use them once you can’t use them again.

For the price point, you can't do better.
I play on heavy/challenge mode. On this pad, it's difficult to keep up on those step charts. I've found that if you want to play songs on those difficulties, playing anything under 140BPM is good for keeping the pad stable. After that it's like a slip and slide. I didn't use the stickers provided because I didn't want to permanently affix the pad to the floor, so maybe you could play at a higher BPM if you use those. Because I don't take this game as seriously as I used to, I had no problem with my pride when I went down to standard mode and tested it out. Standard offered a nice balance of difficulty and pad stability. I haven't had any issues with steps not registering. The port plug also had some bent pins upon arrival but I plugged it in anyway and it worked, so maybe I got lucky. Either way, if I had to, I'd buy another just as a spare. *EDIT* It's now January 2021. I started playing again recently and after prolonged folded storage, the down button works when it wants to. I put it away with no issues, but now it's pretty frustrating. Just be careful if/when/how you choose to store this thing. I'll probably buy another one.

Doesn't work properly!
I'd gone through most of the reviews on here and some said the pads sensors were a little iffy but most seemed really okay with it. Mine didn't even come in the original box, it was in a plain white un-labelled parcel. The back step button was puffed up a little and I didnt think anything of it until I actually tried to play my game. It barely registers touch, and won't even work on carpet. I have cardboard under the mat for this reason, and even then the back step barely works, making my games mostly unplayable! I wouldn't recommend this product and will probably return it for a better quality pad.
