BR250 Video Borescope/Wireless Inspection Camera

Nice inspection scope ... picture is better than expected and the device itself is easy to use, full featured, and well packaged. A bit expensive but worth the money and will definitely come in handy ... highly recommend this tool! As for those that think this tool is an engine borescope, it's not and the price reflects that! If you need a real engine borescope to examine vavles and such up close then be prepared to layout more then 3x the cost of the Extech BR250 inspection scope! Don't give this tool a lesser rating just because the tool isn't what you want it to be! Extech BR250 is an Inspection Scope ... not a Engine Borescope!

The borescope head is a little hard to maneuver to see what you want, and the picture detail is not the best. But for the price this product is very good.

The pictures taken with this device are terrible and do not resemble the advertisement on it, it will not focus correctly and you will experience downloading of data issues too. The built in light does not produce near enough light no mater how fresh the battery's.. Just wish I had not forgotten about the 30 day return policy, I tried to send it back on the 30th day, of course they will not return your money then!

The light on the camera is not bright as the photos online indicate and the goose neck is not stiff and has a tendency to be unstable when utilized. The overall handle and screen are decent size.

I have used this several times now. This is the best bang for the buck. I have used many kinds and brands of these at work and you would have to spend 3x or more to get to the next performance level.

I found the camera easy to set up and use. I found that more light is needed to make videos and pictures better. I taped a small flashlight to the end. That helped the image a little, but hurt the access. (needed a bigger hole in wall, more room to get around in the engine compartment, etc). I'm sure I will find uses for this camera. The case is very nice to house it in and keep it safe. I really was hoping for a crisp, clear image that would produce a clear print. Not happening so far, but I will keep practicing with the unit.

For the money, this is a pretty good borescope. The video quality is good, and the photo qualty is above average. My biggest complaint is that the video screen is almost useless unless it's mounted on the control head. If it's more than a couple feet from the control head the video gets so noisy that it's hard to see anything. Admittedly, I use this in an RF noisy environment, but it still should work much better than this. That's the only thing that keeps me from giving it 5 stars.

This is a terrible product. Resoultion on the screen is bad, but the pictures are terrible when downloaded to my PC. Not enough light, cheap feeling in my hands......this is what i get for buying something sight un-seen on the internet.

Purchased this to do inspections in hydraulic manifold galleries. Easy to use unit with a small camera tip. The detachable wireless screen is a huge advantage, as you can set the screen up on a table to view and then twist and turn the camera handle at the without having to contort yourself to see the screen as you maneuver the camera around. There is some static interference on the screen sometimes, but that may be due to interference from CNC machines running around the inspection area, rather than a shortcoming with the unit. The camera brightness is easily adjusted with a scroll wheel on the handle. Brightness is good, but I usually add a second light in from a side hole if the hole is really deep. With a second light source the visibility is really good.

I use this for inspections of industrial equipment. Needed one that had the option of an extended Probe Cable. Just got the 5M extension today and tried it out. Everything works extremely well. Focuses as close as 3cm, which is better than the specs stated. This is my first unit with a detachable screen which I highly recommend. Makes viewing easier when manipulating the probe (don't have to rotate screen to rotate the probe). I would say the distance is more like 10ft between the screen and sending/handle unit. Also, the case has a foam section that is pre-cut and easily removed to store the 5M cable/Probe. So, everything fits int eh single case. Visual quality is just fine. All of these units seem to have the same resolution for the screen. This unit's Probes are in the higher end of the spectrum for resolution. Very happy with this unit. I disagree with another comment about the probe to handle connection being flimsy. I find it robust. The device is not a hammer after-all.

Extech BR250 is approximately 10 times more expensive than a camera that connects to Android/Iphone. And it's 10 times worse. Case is made of cheap plastic that smells horribly. Screen has poor resolution, but you can see what is on it. Connection has terrible design, will fall apart in a week. Quality control is non-existing. Which explains why camera didn't even turn on. Overall: do not buy. If you received as a gift - ask for receipt.
