Perfect splint for anyone with a Mallet finger (avoid figure 8 splint!!)
This is the 2nd time I have experienced this injury (2nd time being more severe with the fracture). The splint provided by my doctor was a similar style, but was harder plastic & did not have the split top that this one has, so there was a slight gap between my finger and the splint. Features I love about this splint (there are a lot): protects the finger and keeps the top joint immobilized, has a split top so as the swelling in the finger changes you can adjust and keep the fit snug, the Velcro removes the need to have sports tape around, the material of the plastic decreases the "gym foot" smell that can occur with a splint, it is less noticeable in day-to-day activities - both from my perspective and to others (don't have to constantly answer what happened to your finger), and finally there are two in the package so you can rotate to clean and not be without splint at any time. Another option I have seen recommended for a mallet finger is the "figure 8" type splint; there is simply no way this splint could provide the protection you need with a mallet fracture. You would be shocked at the amount of times you bump your finger on things throughout the day & the figure 8 splint will not protect your healing finger from these encounters. This may actually be the first Amazon review I have written, but I am so pleased with this product that I felt the need to let others know how tremendous it can be in the healing process. A mallet finger can take anywhere from 4-8 weeks to heal, depending on the severity, so you really want to have a splint you are comfortable with and I give the Thinvik splint my 100% seal of approval.

Comfortable
I injured my pinky and the first phalanx was drooping, so I’d been wearing a basic Velcro brace. It was super uncomfortable and kept moving around, so I decided to try this one. Huge difference. It’s really comfortable, stays in place, and I can use my keyboard with no problem. It supports my finger without putting any pressure on it. I’m using size #1 and it fits perfectly.

Support for mallet finger supports
The finger supports fit well and worked perfectly. There is a velcro closure, so it was not necessary to have to mess around with tape and tape residue. The seam at the top of the finger support was sometimes a bit irritating, but on the whole, they worked well, and I will be ordering more.

Works as designed
Im sure it works for what it was designed for., but for my need not big enough to fit a bandaged finger.

Good, but could be a wee bit better.
These are good mallet finger splints in that one can type, use denal floss, an get them wet without the finger tip getting macerated compared to the splints which have the finger tip completely enclosed. However, I do not thing that there is enough dorsiflexion of the distal finger tip to facilitate a healing repair. The splints have have the finger tip totally covered and at a dorsiflexion angle are better for healing. Nonetheless, I'll use this splint when I need to type, or use dental floss to clean my teeth.

Fits perfectly great spint
I tore my pinky ligament and went to see about 4 doctors because my finger tip was drooping and would not go back up after having a tub of yogurt fall on my finger. They took x-rays and I was told i had Mallet finger. They sent me to a physical therapist office to cast my finger. I was told not to buy a splint that they were going to put a professional cast/splint on my finger. The lady took a piece of plastic board cut it warmed it up to slightly melt to fit my finger then put tape on it. It didn’t look professionally done at all, it did not fit my finger properly and it look like my 6 year old granddaughter could have made it for me and it was very uncomfortable. With that said i left it on for 4 weeks and it felt like my finger was getting worst. I had no pain with the initial accident but weeks later i was feeling alot of pain, i finally went online did some research and found this little finger splint and immediately putting it on I was in complete comfort. It came in 3 sizes but one of them fit my finger so perfectly as if it was made for me. I have really thin fingers, i wear a size 4 on my ring finger which is pretty small so my pinky is probably a 2 or 3 Its my first time wearing it but so far so good thank you i love it. The doctors were a waste of time and money!! Their in the business of making money not healing. Im pretty sure they did a crummy job so that i can come back for physical therapy. Urgent care had me go to the hospital for X-rays ,then they had me go to another doctor to look at the x-rays, then they had another doctor put the crummy splint i wasn’t sure why one doctor couldn’t do everything in one facility i was billed 4 $40 copays completely ridiculous never again. Slips, especially when moist or wet
Thinvik [2 Pack] Plastic Mallet DIP Finger Support Arrived per ETA. Applied and worn for 7 days. Slips, especially when moist or wet. May require adjusting during 24 hour periods due to moisture, humidity, dryness, swelling and shrinkage. Two Package, Suggest rotate every 24 hours, wash with antibacterial soap, dry. Suggest placing textured tape on inside bottom to assist with finger grip, in assisting in minimizing slippage. The Velcro strapping will slip, and the manufacture should already have employed the consumer-provided idea of molded beads to address the strap slipping forward and back, causing the splint to loosen, resulting in splint slippage and rotation. Velcro end tab is too wide and is susceptible to not fully fastening, resulting in bending, discomfort, fastening security. When wet, the plastic does not completely drain and dry, developing potential water-log, odor, and fungus. Other product purchased and used, Neo G Finger Splint, Easy-Fit - Support for... Mallet Finger... I rate the Neo G to be superior to Thinvik [2 Pack] Plastic Mallet DIP Finger Support... EVW 031922

Different sizes helped
I’m glad I went with multiple sizes, my finger seemed to be the right fit with the smaller sizes but it was a little too tight, the larger size worked well and it allowed me to switch them out if it got wet. My finger is almost back to normal.

I ordered size "L". The size that you pick implies there are 3 units as it says you get size 3, 4, and 5 when choosing "L". However only 2 units are actually in the pack, size 3 and 4. There are other options for only a couple of dollars more that are far superior in quality, and you get a full set of 5. There is no way these are rated higher by proper reviews. The size of the package compared to the goods gives you a good example of the care factor with this. I used their measuring chart to order and they are way oversized.

Descriptions says sizes 3, 4 and 5, but size 5 was not included. Rip off and a waste of my time.
