I specifically got this as I haven't yet figured out mach3 and/or linuxcnc and wanted to ensure I had control over the motor. The previous motor sheared the main shaft and also the controller was getting too hot and going into safety. This one is as described. And the collets appear to work. I only used the 1/8" so far. Took about a half hour to go through everything. You will need to provide a power wire from mains to this. Quality is OK. Most important that motor has no vibrations and makes very little noise. Didn't checked collets yet, but i think they could be OK too. How is the connection made?** A: Not with adding additional equipment and wiring. **Q: Do you need the mach 3 input to operate the motor?** A: Direct power control can adjust the speed through the potentiometer. At the same time, if you have a mach3 power supply, you can also use it **Q: Does it work for aluminum engraveing?** A: Yes, it can work for aluminum engraving. **Q: For control threw control board what output signal voltage do you need? Once I balanced it the motor ran a lot quieter.
