great gadget that isn't necessary 😂
Not an essential purchase, but it's beautiful. Besides having brighter LEDs than the previous version, the mouse glides beautifully. Overpriced? Definitely, but Razer makes a "gaming lifestyle product," so if you have other Razer products, this will be a great match.

Nice, solid pad for the Razer ecosystem!
Smooth surface, my Razer Basilisk v3 glides over this thing! Pretty RGB effects too. A little pricey, but good value of you can get one on sale. Fits well on any desk. Thin enough not to be intrusive, too.

Solid function with awesome aesthetics: a high quality product.
I gotta say I really do love this thing, but mainly for one big reason: the cable catch. It's simple but is very intuitively placed and quite incredible for a wired mouse. It really improves the feeling of a wired mouse. The surface of the mouse pad is quite nice. It's very smooth and my mouse glides across it. There are also no sharp feeling edges where the surface and LEDs meet, and it is kind on your wrist. Because the back of the mousepad has that rubber grippy material uniformly across it, it sits down perfectly flat on a desk and will not move easily with regular use. If you have sweaty hands you probably will not like the feeling of the mousepad for longer gaming sessions, but it is extremely easy to clean. The RGB on this is definitely the best I've seen on a mousepad. It has the most lighting zones and gets very bright. I run mine at around 50% brightness so it's not distracting when playing in the dark. Overall the mousepad really just screams quality. The packaging is very nice, the unboxing experience is nice and easy. The braided cable feels extremely nice and fits snugly in USB ports. Even the cable management rubber tie thing feels nice. The mousepad surface feels good and is nice for both regular use and gaming. The LED lighting is, in my opinion, best in class and none of the other big manufacturers really come close. If I had to give it a con, I would say that the software isn't the best and it really is a bit daunting to use at times, but it's not really a big deal if you're using the lighting presets anyways. For $50 it is a pricy mousepad, but it really does feel like you are getting your money's worth out of it.

Best RGB Mouspad I have found on the internet
Right off the rip I can say I have scoured the internet and can't find a single mouse pad with RBG lights like these. Every mouse pad I've seen that is RGB simply changes the entire bar of light. This mousepad has multiple nodes of light inside allowing for a beautiful stream of rainbows or whatever color combinations you can imagine. The Razer Synapse program as well as the Chroma Studio are great. Chroma Studio works almost like photoshop allowing for insane levels of customization. The quality of the mouse pad is great, I like that it's a hard surface personally. One complaint I have is that the pad tends to slide across the desk sometimes when I'm playing games. It needs to be readjusted often so the non-slip backing could have been executed better. It has a nice clip for your mouse wire to rest in allowing you to keep the wiring a bit more managed. Overall, great mouse pad with probably the best RGB lighting you'll ever find online. IF anyone has found something of equal of better quality I'd love to know about them!

Good hardware, dangerous software. Avoid the drivers and related apps.
This mouse pa[d is a bit big but it should work for gaming and daily activities. It's a nice, large mousing surface that doesn't move around like a soft mouse pad does. My only problem is the software they want you to install. It's designed to slurp your data, usage activities or anything else you do on your computer for sharing and monetization on the data brokerage market. Simply plugging it into your computer prompts you to install their software but be sure to read the privacy statement where it shows all they ways the take your info to share with their "Business Partners". (Who knows who that really is anyhow?) The software is used to control the LED colors is 384 Megabytes, which is far too large for simply controlling LEDs and probably does a host of other suspicious monitoring of our systems. Without the software, the mouse pad simply changes colors and mostly looks ok but I'd never install a software package that's so huge and (to me) suspect. Avoid the software. It works fine without it and you'll be protecting your privacy and probably computer security. Who knows if this software is securely-coded and maintained by experts.

Switched to this hard pad and dont think Ill go back to soft
Ive had this pad for about 2 months. Its the 1st hard pad Ive ever purchased for myself. I went with Razer because I needed the FPS increase in game from the RGB on the pad :) Also most hard pads do not come with a built in mouse cable holder. This is what really sold me as I dont have room, nor can I be bothered with having a entire sperate item just to hold my mouse cable in place lol. The pad is very smooth but still allows some decent control. Im using the Deathadder V2 mouse with this pad and, at least in my head lol, I believe it has helped me improve in game by being able to more accurately make micro movements due to the less friction a hard pad provides. Even after 2 months of daily gaming 4+ hours 5-6 days a week, it still feels like the day I bought it which is very nice as I see a lot of people complain about hard pads wearing out quickly. Also, it WILL wear down the feet on your mouse slightly faster but at least so far, no issues. Ill update my review when/if my mouse pads wear down to give an estimated timeframe of how long they last. Its VERY easy to clean! This is the main reason I switched to a hard pad to begin with. It absolutely takes some getting used to if your just switching from a soft to hard pad, but after 2 months Ive gotten pretty used to it. Im still dialing it in though and still have a little ways to go until Im 100% used to it but I believe its an improvement, at least for me. Pros: - Smooth hard surface helps with micro movements/aim - Very easy to keep clean - The mouse cable holder being built onto the pad is a no brainer - The added FPS increase in game from the added RGB on the mouse pad is nice :) Cons: - Takes a couple months to get used to if coming from a soft pad, but the change could be worth it to you depending on your preferences/gameplay style. EDIT: Since this review I have went back to a soft pad. I made this review a little too early. Yes, like clockwork, about every 4-5 months the pad starts to wear out and becomes "scratchy" when moving the mouse. You can feel each little scratch as you go over it in the mouse itself. Also it abaolutely does destroy mouse feet. It grinds them all the way down to the plastic housing of your mouse forcing you to either buy new mouse slides, which never feel as good as the original, or buy a new mouse to get that original feel again. I have bout 2 more of these pads since then. After the 3rd one I decided it wasnt worth the hassle anymore or having to buy feet/mouse and pad every 5 months or so. Also after a couple years of using the hard pad, I have realized it didnt actually make me more accurate. In fact, more times than not it made me less accurate due to having no feeling of control. Sure, you get used to it, but you never develop the muscle memory as well as you do on a soft pad.

Game changer !
I own the Razer Firefly Hard V2, along with Razer Goliathus Extended and the Razer Naga Trinity Gaming mouse. The end result ? It's awesome ! This is a must have if you are a RGB fan and have a home office desk (work / gaming ..). I am using the Razer Synapse software for weeks now, haven't had any issues so far. The RGB light between the 3 is synchronized which is giving providing awesome effect ! I never imagined using a mouse pad with hard materials (not soft materials, making it not foldable). Yet the Firefly V2 has exceeded all my expectations ! It's definitely recommended for home desks (not for travelling). If you need it for your laptop and will move it a lot, this is not for you (I would recommend instead Razer Sphex V2 Mini). The materials used to build this mouse pad are of high finish. The RGB lighting effects are awesome ! This mouse pad lighting perform great during the day and during the night. The light diffuser is of great quality and Razer has integrated a big number of Leds inside (compared to the Goliathus Extended for example), making it possible to do build any kind of effect using the Razer Synapse software. I definitely recommend this !

I see multitudes
This truly is a thing of beauty. I coupled the Firefly V2 mousepad with the Razer DeathAdder V2 (and for some reason a Logitech G213 keyboard - not sure why I did that, though it’s cool too), and the colour synching is amazing, and the feel as smooth as a Bruno Mars song. It sure beats my old $5 Microsoft mouse + sheet of A4 paper!
