I've used this for over 4 years now. It may be the most perfect electronic device I've ever used.
I'm a newbie. I've not used many audio interfaces. However I've been working with audio since my high-school electronics in 1978. I have an ear for noise, distortion, and bad equalization. Among the 100s of electronic devices I've used over the past 45 years, this Steinberg device ranks in the absolute upper echelons in terms of quality. The preamps are absolutely silent even when driving studio-grade headphones and speakers. It has never dissappointed me. It has been completely reliable since I purchased 4 years ago. It has always worked exactly as I expected it to when using DAWs, electric guitars, and softh-synths in my studio. Their support site is also one of the most comprehense and easy to use I've ever encountered. Making vast amounts of technical information easy to navigate is a heavy lift. Steinberg manages to make it accessible even to newbies like me. Contacting their support team has also always been a truly professional-level experience. For the money I could not be happier. I'd also like to give another shout-out to Steinberg. Let's not forget that their intoduction of ASIO is what has enabled all of us to do professional audio on our inexpensive PCs. The true impact of their invention of ASIO cannot be overstated. Thank-you Steinberg!

This Interface Blows the Others Away!
I lovvvvvve this interface! Here’s what cool about it. It’s built like a tank. It has USB-C 3.0 for connecting to your computer (I did buy a better 3.2 cable). The software is amazing! Low latency, and everything you can imagine to compose and record with, including amp and pedal settings, vocals, keyboards, drums. It’s all available. I did contact Support who stayed on the phone and stepped me through which software to load. Our band wanted to practice remotely. I was in Arizona, 1750 miles from Chicago. Using a 2.0 USB had too much latency. We also switched from Jamkazam to Sonobus. The Steinberg loved Sonobus and the latency dropped so low we could also run video at the same time. We only tested 3 connections all using the Steinberg. Perfect. Note that if one person uses a slower interface, it injects latency, so everyone needs the same unit. Here’s the second great thing. The sounds in the Steinberg software are so good, I take a laptop, and the interface and connect it to a channel on the mixing board directly and I don’t need an amp when using in ear monitors. It’ll also do stereo output. I don’t lug an amp to rehearsal anymore. Best buy I’ve made on gear in a long time. Highly recommended!

NO COMPLAINTS.
I was in need of a much better audio interface and since the audiobox latency was badly misbehaving. So I decided to I spend the extra money and get a brand that I trust. This box is performing way better than expected. I actually did not have to set the latency. And the sound quality is almost as good as the octane. I don't need the midi in and out, but good to know that I have a backup if needed. I highly recommend for small studio setups!

Durable, Reliable and Simple.
Workhorse interface that came with my Cubase purchase. Durable, reliable and built like a tank.

This thing weighs a lot more than it looks
I'm not the biggest fan of the ergonomics of it. 1. The only way to turn it off is to switch it from USB-C power to MicroUSB, using a tiny switch on the back. I'm fine reaching across the desk to accomplish this, but sometimes you just want a power switch right at the front. 2. The only way to switch +48v is a tiny switch on the back of it. Look, I know this sounds like I'm repeating myself, but damn I wish it were a button or switch on the front panel. BUT Here's why neither of those things matter: I am using a rather tough to power condenser, and I had to turn the gain up quite a bit, but you know what? I don't hear noise. In fact, I don't hear the system noise until I am very close to 95% of maximum gain, well past where I get a good signal going for -12 to -6 The thing must have all of it's power supply and wires in the back of the unit, because this thing is quiet! I cranked my D-75A to max, cranked the UR-22C monitor knob to max, and I have to place my head right about six inches from the speaker to hear the faintest hiss. Meanwhile, that would pop my ear wide open if I played something at those levels. At unity, it's silent! Playback is clear, but my monitors are not isolated from the table and one is next to a corner and yadda yadda I really can't comment on the sonic purity of the signal, but it is clear. Played some CD rips through the system and they sound nice and flat, just as they should on my system. I am waiting for my new computer before I install any included software, but I am looking forward to the built in DSP functionality. Edit: The supplied DSP effects are solid and can be used for playback/monitor only OR record friendly for a track. There's a couple guitar amp effects and a Compressor+EQ with independent operation. Also the reverb send/return busses are a neat addition. I use the EQ + Comp to give my condenser a little more closeness and it works as intended, nothing sticks out, very controllable and worth using to spice up playback. Nothing about the UR-22c has disappointed me, or let me down, it's exactly what I bought, exactly what I hoped to get integrated into my system.

Misleading 32bit information
While overall I do like this product it would really be listed as 24bit rather than 32bit. You can in some very edge cases get this to connect at 32bit but it is only in a few applications and not in any capacity for live streaming. The fact is that the driver only supports 24bit and for other applications you can hook ASIO but only if the app is build from the ground up for that. This leaves 90% of your use cases as locked into 24bit. I also take issue with the software stack and registration. You have to jump trough a bunch of hoops only to find that many of these have been deprecated but are still necessary to register but then you have to manually migrate into some other app. On the positive side the audio interface is very stable and is very transparent. I like the build quality and the USB C connector use over older formats. I am marking this a one star based on the misleading marketing, if this is adjusted I will update this.

I used the Focusrite Scarlett 8i6 3rd Gen for 3 years. It is a good interface but in my opinion not really value for money. I recently moved to the Steinberg UR22C and I feel this will treat me better. The volume control feels smooth and precise and the overall functionality is straightforward without being complicated. In terms of audio quality the preamps sound clean and transparent and the monitoring with dspMixFx is very handy. Build quality is excellent with a solid metal body that feels durable and reliable. What I like most is the value for money compared to my older interface. For the price it delivers excellent performance without cutting corners. Overall quality is impressive and it feels like a professional tool in a compact form. I will update this review later after more extended use but so far I am very happy with the UR22C.
