Will my Audi A3 16 plate have these or the square one’s?

Your car will have these, as well as hex bolts & normal bolts. If you are handy with tools & do lots of your own servicing they be really important, if your local garage do all your work, don’t bother investing in them. They’re used for involved jobs like exhaust manifolds & rear brake disk changes. Hope that helps C

I havent seen it mentioned anywhere so thought i would check , are the Torx the anti tamper vatiety as i come across these fixings a lot.

No they aren't and to boot they are made of cheese, mine snapped tightening a scope mount where any amount of pressure would crimp the tube so I would hate to see how poorly they perform under any real stress.

Are they strong or do they round/snap easily? I need 1 to get a sump plug of my car that's on tight

From my experience they’re very tough. I had to change the bolt on my car because I turned it sooo hard the wrong way thinking it’s screwed tight. Even still Not even a scratch on the head of the tool.
