Really good canned chili!
I ran across this Wolf Brand Angus Beef chili with beans for a reasonable price. It's one that's been on my list to try. I've always liked Wolf brand regular chili with beans and their hot and spicey variety. Nothing beats homemade chili but I like to keep canned chili on hand for the occasional quick and easy meal. I've tried many of the brands of canned chili on the market and so far, for my tastes, Wolf Brand is the best. This angus beef variety is no exception! It is in the running for the best canned chili I've had. It's a very similar flavor profile to their regular chili with beans. It's thick and rich and has a nice chili flavor. It has a nice balance of beans and meat. There is plenty of meat and it is in small, diced pieces. Like small chunks of stew meat or round roast with plenty of beef flavor. There's no filler or "enhanced" meat in this chili! I wouldn't call this chili spicey. I like some pretty hot chili but mild is good sometimes too. I would say this will only seem spicey to someone with a sensitive palette. For me it had just enough kick to be flavorful. I will buy this again as long as the price is reasonable. It was only slightly more than I usually pay for the other Wolf varieties or the Hormel that I sometimes buy. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a flavorful canned chili with lots of real beef. The only real drawback to this product is the high salt content. Like most canned chili this has a really high sodium content. If salt is a major concern for you there are other brands or varieties of chili that are lower in sodium than this one. Then again, if salt intake is critical for you, than you probably shouldn't be eating canned chili at all.

good stuff
now thats good canned chili ! best ive ever eaten. just needs more hot sauce, but thats a matter of taste no accident either - the first ingredient is angus beef, and in quite nice chucks, not all ground up most other canned chilis have water or beans as their first ingredient , and it shows in appearance and taste good over rice or egg noodles, or with hard crusted bread

MILD SPICINESS, TANGY TASTE, NOT A LOT OF BEANS
My first time trying Wolf Angus Beef Chili. I am used to Hormel and Dennison canned chili so those are my bases for comparison. This Angus Beef chili has mild spiciness with an unusual tangy taste (Angus beef taste?). Very brown so possibly less tomato than other canned chili -- and definitely less beans than others. So on my second can, I decided to add almost half a can of kidney beans and 2 teaspoons of ketchup. Ketchup is powerful stuff, ONE teaspoon might have been enough. And I always add to my chili a sliced up, cooked carrot to make it a more flavorful, more nutritionally balanced meal. The minor modifications made it totally delicious for me!

Loved it!
Read two top 10 canned chili reviews and one gave Wolf's the top spot. The other gave Dennison's the top spot. Going to try that one next. Back to the Wolf's...the only other canned chili I've ever had is Hormel. To me, Wolf's is way better. Spiciness is probably not worth mentioning since everyone is so different. My wife would take one bite of this and rush for a glass of water, saying her mouth was on fire. For me it was perfect. Someone else would say, "where's the spice". I found a little sweetness alongside the spice. Nice, tender chunks of the Angus beef in it. I'll probably be buying a lot more of it. UPDATE: I've purchased this stuff 9 times. My last order it was $3.18 per can. I certainly won't be buying more at the ridiculous price of $9.59 per can. I know there's a lot of inflation but that price is crazy. I thought maybe it was a mistake and you got 3 cans for that price but it's not.

Best there is
My favorite canned chilli by far. Tastes great, good price, lots of protein, nice and thick, no weird ingredients like soy protein, easy pull tab, low sugar. Can't ask for much more. I don't know why others are complaining about low meat. You can clearly see in the ingredient list where meat places by weight. It would be illegal for them to not abide by that.

Purchased due to favorable reviews
Appears to be a good base towards a custom chili. Will add my other ingredients to attain desired goal (bourbon, maple syrup, chilis, green peppers, onions Navy, Kidney, Chili, Black, and roasted beans, tomatoes as well as habenero peppers., maybe even the kitchen sink if my pan will hold it

Tasty, filled wit meat, great value!!
I'm not a chili person. Chili isn't one of my favorite foods, but I'm at the mercy of prepared foods right now. I noticed it was a 5 star review chili, so I tried it. It's a really thick chili. It stuck to the can so I had to use a fork to take it out. After heating, it tasted really good, not hot spicy at all, only a mild heat. I could definitely taste the meat--it wasn't all or nearly all beans like other canned chilis. It's almost as good as Amazon Kitchen, Angus Steak & Red Bean Chili, 24 oz ($7 fantastic tasting with lots of meat) fresh chili. I upgraded it after heating by adding some Sargento shredded cheese and garnished with cilantro leaves & chopped green onions It tasted even better!! I ate it with 2 toasted Amazon brand onion bagels and the bagels held up well with the chili's thick sauce & beans (not soggy when I used ordinary toasted loaf bread). Yes, I would definitely buy this chili again and next time add it to my mac & cheese.
