Great little printer/copier & how to turn off Configuration Page printing
I have always used "Inkjet" type printers thinking that anything "laser" would be too expensive. This changed my mind. It was a very good price, comparable with Inkjet printers. And the fastest from turning on to printing/copying I have ever used. I will admit to being a bit worried about the reviews I read saying it was not user friendly, hard to set up, etc. I opened the box, followed the setup instruction sheet and it was very easy. The trick to the toner cartridge and avoiding a messy toner spill is just to take your time. I put a piece of copier paper under the toner cartridge and pulled the sealing tape very slowly. The spill was no more than you would get from one shake of a pepper shaker. I inserted the setup CD into my computer and just followed instructions, it asked if I wanted to set it up using WiFi and I answered yes. You have to plug the USB cable in for a few minutes while it sends info back and forth from the computer to the printer/copier and then it was complete. You unplug and you are ready to go. I followed another reviewer's suggestion about turning off the "configuration page" and it was very easy to do... (Note that it is possible to turn off the Configuration Report from the LCD on the printer itself. Go to: System Setup > Machine Setup > Conf. Page, press "OK" and select the "OFF" option). Right inside your owner/operator manual it shows the top of the printer/copier with all the buttons... it will show you which one to press for System Setup. Since I have only had it 1 day I will review again after using it for a little while, but am not expecting any troubles.

It's not super-easy to setup, but it is doable.
I just recently received this unit and I haven't had a lot of time with it. So, my reviews may change. However, this is what I think about this printer as of this date:1.) It doesn't have the easiest setup, but is in line with similar printers. The onscreen prompts are not great. They are irritating and not as comprehensive as I would like. Also, the printed instructions are not great. However, you can figure out most of via the "printer webpage." Which allowed me to setup features that seemed impossible on the printer itself. That is easier than what I have experienced in the past.2.) Save yourself the trouble - use ethernet!-Setting up a printer via wifi is a pain. A real pain! Setting up a wired printer is easy! If your printer is close enough to your router - then please use ethernet!!!! You will be glad that you did. And yes, you can print via wifi if your printer is wired. It doesn't matter.3.) Why in the world is printing every time that I turn it on!- One thing that I have not figured out how to turn off yet is each time I turn it on - it prints a test page. Wasting paper and annoying me. I have yet to figure out how to stop that.4.) Finally, damn the print outs look great!-I haven't done much yet with it, but I have to say that I love the quality of the print. It's been so long since I have had a new printer that forgot how beautiful laser printers can be. Even if it is monochrome. It is wonderful! That alone is worth the price of admission. With the scan and fax features on top of it - it's nearly perfect. It's not for everyone. Know what you're getting into before you buy. Then you'll be fine.

Easy to setup, print quality is great
I read so many reviews of how this printer wouldn't connect to home networks, or was difficult to setup. I actually put off starting the install until I had enough time to fix any issues that came up. From unpacking to printing took about 20 minutes. The instructions were helpful, but it was simple...do NOT plug in the USB cable. Simply power on the printer, go to the settings for WiFi, select the option for WPS (although not labeled WPS in the settings menu, something like PCM..can't remember exactly), then go to your router and push the WPS button...they will connect to each other and the router will assign an ip address to the printer. I suggest that you go into your router settings and make the IP static. Then you simply go to any wireless PC that is connected to your same home network and add the printer. For Android devices, go to the google play store and install the xerox plugin app. This will allow any android device to print to the printer; Apple has the same app. Print quality is great, scanning from the PC is simple and fast, however I have not tried to scan to/from any android device.

The software on this product is a bad joke
I needed a basic reliable printer and scanner for a work-from-home situation and this printer seemed like a very affordable option. When I can get it to work, it does a suitable job. But right off the bat I had to spend hours with the installation/set up, first on my own and then with multiple phone calls (many of them dropped or disconnected mid-call) to Xerox technical support, and was still unable to get the WorkCentre 3215 to connect to my newer Dell XPS13 and my older MacBook Pro. After about the fourth unsuccessful attempt to get help with this I was finally transferred to someone in '2nd level software support' who was able to resolve the installation and wireless connection issues by logging on to my PC remotely. However, two months later I continue to have intermittent connectivity issues which are sometimes solved by rebooting my PC (as suggested during yet another call to technical support), sometimes not. Two days ago (outside of call hours) I tried to scan to my PC and got a 'cannot connect' message. I rebooted both my computer and the printer (which has to be almost 'force' shut down, by the way - simply pressing and releasing the power button once does not turn it off) and could not get the scanner function to work. I then tried connecting to my PC with the USB cable and still received the same error message. This morning I spent about 15 minutes on hold with Xerox, had the call dropped, called back once more and then, after starting to problem solve with them, found that - surprise! - the scanner was working again. So if you like unpredictability and frustration when it comes to being able to print or scan, and enjoy automated phone systems and bad hold music, by all means - make the purchase.
