The grind had to be adjusted by taking the handle off and the rest of the parts, then turn the part to loosen. The grind is bigger now. Directions with the grinder would have been helpful instead of guess and check. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ This grinder is well made and I expect wonderful coffee for years to come. *by S***A on Reviewed in the United States on December 2, 2016* I grew up drinking black, unsweetened coffee. Then as an adult I bought a grinder similar to this and the coffee I was able to make with this and an aluminum drip-o-later was wonderful. Then I gave up the pot because of the aluminum and the grinder went AWOL after several moves.After years of trying different electric grinders and coffee pots (I now have an electric drip pot, 3 different french press pots, a Bialetti espresso maker and a K-Cup machine) and I have never been completely happy with any of them. The coffee they make IMO is too strong or too weak or just plain bitter, regardless of how much I spend on the beans, and I found myself adding more and more creamers, sweeteners and using flavored coffees to overcome these off flavors.I recently purchased this grinder and an original stainless steel drip-o-later from ebay in great condition. I have my coffee back, and I drink it black and unsweetened, that's how good it is.Is this grinder small? Yes, it is but that's not a deal killer for me. It grinds enough beans in one fill for my four cup drip-o-later and the slow, cool grind is what retains all the flavor of the beans and puts it in your cup where it belongs. The long handle makes the process much faster than my original one. I timed it at exactly 89 seconds.My only reason for the 4-stars is because the drawer is about 1/4" too short which allows some of the grinds to fall behind it and makes a bit of a mess. I still forgive it for that but it would be a major improvement if the drawer fit properly. Is it hard to get the grounds out, as some people say? I don't think so, just hold the grinder on a tilt and gently tap it on the counter and they will fall out. If your beans are really oily you might need to loosen them with a spoon and and then tap them out, and I don't know why you need to worry about getting the grinder pristine every time you use it, it's just coffee and it's not going to make you sick if some stays in there. To clean the grinding parts, which appear to be cast iron, just grind some raw uncooked instant rice once a month and it's clean.Yes, this is a manual process and it is more time consuming but for me, my coffee is more important than convenience. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fun item for the kitchen! *by C***S on Reviewed in the United States on December 22, 2015* It holds a lot more beans than one would think! It grinds them into an espresso powder, makes a wonderful grinding noise and it's drawer is held in by some clever springs so it won't fall out when you pick it up. The one thing not so good is the length of time it takes to get a decent enough cup of coffee.
