I wish I played John Pearse hybrids, sooner.
Iโve been playing PB and 80/20s by various manufacturers including EB aluminum and nickel and have mixed gauges on my Takamine EF340CELH. I need not mix manufacturers and gauges anymore as Iโve hit the jackpot with the hybrid John Pearse 601LM. They dial in fast with highs and mids ringing through and provide the missing lows after many years playing this guitar. The tonal quality and frequencies are unmatched. It will cost you a little more but well worth the sonic delight.

Nice & easy playing....
I just put these on and have played them for a bit.... I like the feel and their sound. This is specifically about the Silvered Steel Phosphor Bronze and Silk Wound Light/Medium Gauge which are .012 to .053 E to E. The first and second string are silvered steel, not wound. The 3rd-6th strings are silk wound phosphor bronze. I wanted something easier on the fingers and easier to fret chords well with and these are that. They do feel slightly soft, but not too soft. I like the .012 to .053 gauge, they are easier to play and more finger tip friendly than many electric guitar strings of a smaller gauge. They sound a bit bright so far and warm with very good harmonic resonance.

Thanks, theyโre good but ..,
Shipped quickly โฆ but they seem to lack the same supple quality and color of the 12 strings โฆ also there were no signs of the threads โฆ and my 12s were a little defective I guess cuz they were splitting out threads on the big E . I would have expected to see โฆ some silk winding on the ends of these sixes but none โฆ hmm โฆ the other thing the big E is just too thick on their light sets , I donโt know โฆ.and on the 6 the big E is not very supple โฆ otherwise done right they are great strings โฆI think the 12 strings are more impressive , was expecting a little for the 6 , but I dunno โฆ I think JP strings are very good , probably the best for some guitars โฆbut pricey โฆ. Ps they are the right ones , i did see some threads on string end on certain ones , and I know thatโs no way to judge , itโs just I was expecting just a little more , but I believe in Jp methods , but man make lighter gauges โฆ thanks

Great feel, NO CLANG!
Great, like all John Pearce strings. Good feel, great sound, balanced gauge. Try this if you canโt stand the way phos bronze strings sound until theyโve been played at least twenty hours. Also, considerably less squeak than conventional steel strings but way more balls and bottom than silk and steels.

Tinnie sounding when plugged in
Acoustically I thought they sounded good. I like the feel of them. But plugged into my BOSE L1, they didnโt sound good at all. They were on my J45

Great NEW strings
First time buying a JP string set. Installed today. These are a joy to play. Big round sound, tension is good. Makes my Martin 00-28 sound full but sweet. Will update after a month to let you know how these hold up with light-moderate use in house.
