Is there some secret to opening this case? i lifted the front latch, but i can't lift the lid. if i pull much more, i'm going to break it.

This rectangular case has a center skinny piano hinge that extends across the middle back, and a large plastic rectangular clasp mounted across the front. Set the rectangular case on a tabletop with the hinge away from you and the clasp toward you. Feel the top and bottom of the clasp with your fingers. The top of the clasp will be thicker and more smooth; the bottom of the front clasp will be thinner and slightly sharp. The thin/sharp bottom of the clasp is the bottom of the case. So, for the first time that you try to open the case, flip the case over so that the bottom of the front clasp is now on the top. Place your fingers between the thin front clasp and the plastic wall of the case. Use your fingers to push down on the thin clasp -- essentially moving it away from the plastic case frame. The clasp will open and release like a door swinging downward and it will make a "snap" sound as the rectangular clasp moves away from the plastic frame of the case. This is a fairly sturdy door so you would close it by pushing the container together slightly so it is snug, and then snapping the rectangular clasp up toward the plastic frame of the case. Once you open the clasp successfully, you might want to put a stick-on label on the clasp to identify the top/bottom of the clasp. This stick-on label will also help you identify the top/bottom of the case -- which is important so contents within don't spill out when you open the case with the clasp.
