Fantastic power rack! Easy assembly, looks great, sturdy.
Review written two days after receiving power rack. *The small posts (the ones that hold the barbell bar when doing bench press or squats) and large posts (the bars that provide you the safety when bench pressing or squatting) easily get scratched when a threaded barbell bar comes into contact with them, but this can be avoided by either putting tape on the posts or putting on them FOAM NOODLES (shown in the picture uploaded by P. Stubbs). *I measured each of the two small posts is 9cm (3.54 inches) and each of the two large posts is 85cm (33.5 inches). So if you buy FOAM NOODLES (I will) you need: (3.54 + 3.54) + (33.5 + 33.5) = ~74 inches. *I measured all four posts have a diameter of 25mm (= ~1 inch). -So, use these measurements to wisely purchase foam noodles, which I strongly suggest you do or else you'll scratch the posts every single time the bar comes into contact with them. *The power rack comes in three boxes. Box 1: 48lbs, box 2: 46lbs, box 3: 43lbs. The first box is ~7 feet long, and the others ~4 feet long. If the UPS truck does not give you THREE boxes then don't accept the package. I only received two boxes on delivery day and on the next day I realized I was missing one box but that same day UPS delivered it - UPS somehow screwed up. I contacted Amazon support that day through chat and the representative immediately scheduled a replacement sent and a pickup (to get the two boxes from my home) no questions asked, but as I was chatting with the rep., UPS driver rang my bell - and there it was - the missing box. *Assembly was easy but it took me ~2hrs because I assembled 98% of it alone. With someone's help it would have taken ~40 minutes. *I followed the instructions to assemble and found them to be easy to follow; others complaint they were confusing but I strongly disagree with them. *There are a total of 26 HEAD HEX BOLTS included in one bag ranging from 65mm in length to 75mm, so it took me a few minutes to measure them and organize them by length, so I wish the bolts had been separated. *No TOOL is provided to fasten the head hex bolts, but luckily I had the ones that came with the bench press I ordered a few months ago. So, make sure you have a tool to use for this type of bolts. *The parts are: (4) Rack frames, (1) base frame, (1) pull up bar, (2) large post, (2) small post, (2) pull up frame, (1) rear frame, (1) left base support, (1) right base support. *A standard 72-inch (6-feet) barbell bar was the perfect size for this power rack; Anything shorter or longer is NOT appropriate. *When doing pullups the power rack doesn't shake at all (very sturdy). -I LOVE this power rack. It looks great and after assembly it feels very sturdy and safe. The pullup bar is great. Once I add the foam noodles to this rack it will look even better and won't have to worry about scratching it either! 5/5 stars. CON: *The paint CAN come off easily on the posts, like a lot have complaint on the reviews, but the FOAM NOODLES or TAPE can fix that problem right away so get them! *WARRANTY Registration Card: "You must return this registration card to POWERLINE within 10 days for this Warranty to be valid." < ----------------- That right there is absolute bull****. It's been a week since I ordered this... I should downgrade the value of this by 1-star for this unethical thing, but I'm so happy with the rack that I won't even bother sending this stu**d card. Very unethical of them!

Better than expected
First off, the instructions that were included covered everything in detail. It appears they are shipping this rack with a full instruction set now. So, I'm guessing the company listens to their clients, which is always a good sign. I purchased this rack to replace an old system and have been quite pleased, especially at this price point. This rack is primarily used for squatting, DL partials, pull-ups, zpress and paused bench work. The amount of accessory work that can be done with this thing is far to long to list. I frequently have up to 335 lbs racked at squat level without any issue. The rack feels quite sturdy in that regard and I feel confident putting more weight on there as I progress. I've done DL partials with 225 lbs on the safety pins and they seem to handle it quite well. My biggest concern with this purchase was the pull ups. There were some good reviews on this, but as always, I'm a bit skeptical. @ 190 lbs body weight with a dip belt and a 35 lb plate strapped on, the pullup bar is supporting roughly 230 lbs and I'm not getting any wobble on the rack. It still feels really solid. The only time the rack wobbles is if I adjust the barbell while it's weighted to center it. Then, there is a little wobble. The bar doesn't need to be dead center, I just need to learn to be less OCD with that while using this rack. As several have mentioned, the paint wears off incredibly fast. My rack is indoors, so I don't have any concerns about rust. If this is a concern for you, I would recommend wrapping up the pins with a small piece of cloth and taping it in with some electrical or medical tape. As far as aesthetics are concerned, you want people to notice that you use your rack... you may as well toss the touch up paint ;) I would make one possible suggestion for those of you, who like me, move the pins a lot. The pin holes are not marked or labeled, so I wrapped a piece of electrical tape just below the pin holes that I use for my most common lifts as markers. This makes adjusting the pins a quick task. All in all, I am very happy. I would highly recommend this rack for beginner and intermediate lifters. Now go squat!

My review of Body Solid's PowerLine Power Rack
A power rack allows a home user to safely go to failure on many exercises without a spotter. I look for the ability to walk in and complete exercises such as squats. You also have the option of stepping outside the rack and putting your catches outside rather than inside. I prefer inside as I feel safer failing and not having to move to drop the bar for the most part. The rack is solid, once you have it built. There are plenty of adjustments available and looks like it would fit most people easily. I'm 5'3" and it is not too big for me. A 6'2" friend said it wasn't too small for him. It is a good size so make sure you have the room. I do not have high ceilings and had to watch the ceiling fan while building but now that it is in place there is no issue. My olympic bar fits beautifully and I am having fun trying exercises to failure that I couldn't do before I had the rack. This is my workout room so I'm not particularly concerned with everything matching and looking perfect. However, this unit does look good, a nice piece of equipment. It even comes with touch up paint. I really like the rack and overall it has the quality I was looking for and is very functional. What I didn't like: No step by step instructions just a blow up of the unit and several bolts not exactly identified on the sheet. The bolts come in one bag with different sizes and some of them are only slightly different. No markings to differentiate them; they have a 'ruler' on the bottom. Gee thanks. It was easier to line them up next to each other to see the size differences. I would say most people would find the lack of clear instructions and bolt sizes frustrating. However, I probably could have put it together myself but I don't recommend it. A friend who works in construction helped me put it together and having 2 people really helped. He could also see the final product so to speak where I was lost in the detail. I wasn't going to take off a whole star but the more I thought about it, this is an important piece. The directions should be clear and user friendly. Bolts should have been clearly marked in some way. A link to instructions on the net would have been useful. Bolts could have been put in separate bags with a label if it wasn't cost effective to stamp them. As you can see, this annoyed me. All in all the finished product is very good and I do recommend it.

Great quality rack for someone new to lifting!
I purchased this rack from Amazon in January, 2012. I had to sacrifice my half of the garage for it, but it was a worthy choice. I also bought the Bowflex 3.1 adjustable bench, available at Bowflex SelectTech Adjustable Bench Series 3.1 , as it seemed to be a popular choice from other sources and I didn't feel I needed the leg abilities of the 5.1 bench for the money I was spending. I also got a 300 lb. olympic weight set from a local Hibbett Sports store, however you can find it on Amazon at VTX Olympic Grip Weight Set - 300 lb. , although I didn't pay anywhere near the $440+ (more like $230) for the set at the local store. I would have no problems putting the entire weight set on the rack. If it can hold me at 6"1', and 290 lbs., it can hold another 10 lbs. of weights! I also HIGHLY recommend a weight set with handles! It makes loading and unloading so much easier! I began using the rack in February, 2012. I used it religiously until September, 2012, when due to personal lack of motivation reasons I stopped. I am going to start using it again, and I would like to add the Powerline lat attachment, Powerline PLA200X Lat Attachment for use with PPR200X Power Rack , to add more exercises. If I add this I will also get a collar adapter from Olympic Adapter Sleeve , as the lat attachment has standard size plate posts rather than olympic. I also have a weight tree from CAP Barbell Round Tubes Olympic Plate Rack , an extra set of bar catches from PowerLine BC2 Power Rack Bar Catch , and floor mats from 48 Square Feet ( 12 tiles + borders) 'We Sell Mats' Charcoal Gray 2' x 2' x 3/8" Anti-Fatigue Interlocking EVA Foam Exercise Gym Flooring . I got the extra set of bar catches so I could move the bar outside the rack for movements that could not be accomplished inside the rack, such as overhead presses, deadlifts, barbell rows, etc. Aside from me being dumb and stopping my workouts, they have all been well worth the cost in time and money. Free weights seem to be very reliable and allow your body to move the way it was designed, rather than being locked into the static movement of a machine. I was following the StrongLifts 5x5 method, I would also recommend checking out Medhi's site for more info.

A must have piece of home gym equipment
When I got this thing in the mail, it came in 3 boxes. I opened it up and on one of the pieces said something like, "American designed, Very well made in China". Well, it wasn't kidding because it's quite stable and very well made. So I was looking for the manual to assemble this thing and it just showed a picture of the completed machine and one other picture of what bolt goes where. Either way, this thing was easy to assemble as it was made up of like a dozen major pieces. Once assembled, I tightened all the screws and it was up. Once this machine has a weight bar, a bench and some weights, you are in business! This machine allows you to easily do various exercises. I personally enjoy doing my sitting military presses, sitting behind-the-neck presses, various bench pressing exercises and most importantly of all, squatting! Whenever you're done squatting, you just lean forward and let the bar hit those tall steel columns, then you just squat down and let the bar fall onto those little arms. Also, if you are tired and can't squat back up, just fall down and let the adjustable safety bars catch your bar. The only negative thing about this thing is that this thing takes up quite of bit of room. I suggest putting in your garage or basement. Also, if you are going to use a lot of weight, I recommend you place it in a place that is on a solid foundation. Very versatile. A must have!

PowerLine PPR200X Power Rack w/ Lat Attachment
Pros: - Inexpensive - Comes with Pull-Up bar - Comes with a small paint kit to fix blemishes (about half ounce) - Lat Attachment comes with a long Lat Pull-down bar and short Row bar Cons: - Not very sturdy - Badges and stickers were already peeling off when I opened the boxes - Entire assembly comes in 5 boxes - Lat Attachment should be a cylinder beam instead of a square beam (causes unnecessary friction) - Lat Attachment loading bar is STANDARD 1" - Lat Pull-down and Row bar do no have a separate rotating collar (they usually move to protect your wrist) Thoughts: Bought from Fitness Factory. The entire assembly comes in 5 boxes. The boxes came in relatively good condition. This is the same product that Amazon ships. If you're reading this, you are probably set in getting a home gym and I probably can't deter you. If not, keep in mind most people don't use a home gym enough to justify the space and cost. There is minimal maintenance but maintenance nonetheless. Squat racks are great but you also need an adjusting bench to maximize its utility. Another associated cost with these racks is buying a weight tree, as most do no come with a weight storage system. The PPR200X is basically a cheaply manufacturer, mass produced home gym. Don't expect much. I regularly squat 300 with this rack (it's all the Olympic weights I own) and I don't think this rack will stand the test of time. I give it another 2 years... The lift offs and safety rods are quality, however, the eyelets are not. I see a lot of play when racking barbells and I rack very lightly. The lift offs should use 2 eyelets instead of 1 and it should be inclined, say 15 degrees or so. As it is currently designed, it is flat; under load, it is -5 degrees. I contacted the manufacturer's customer service line to buy an extra pair of lift offs and I never got a reply, email or phone; it has been a month. The rack wouldn't be so bad if the rear eyelets could somehow be reinforced. The pull up bar is a support strut. It's thin so you'll need some athletic tape. The Lat Attachment has too much friction due to the design. It should be cylindrical instead of square. There are no bearing, it is a friction system. It also is positioned too close to the rack (6" from the base) despite it poking out of the rear 19" from the base. Not a big deal when doing squats, but when using it to bench press or incline, this will be a problem. Read the description carefully, the loading bar is STANDARD 1" diameter and only 12" long. The rack, however, is fitted for Olympic barbells. The loading bar on the Lat Attachment can be fitted for Olympic plates if you go to your local hardware store and get PVC pipes and retrofit them. This is a cheap beginner set. Don't get the lat attachment (It is also sold separately). I truly doubt the manufacturer will honor any warranty. Save up for better designed squat racks ($800+) or just get a gym membership. Bottom line: Not Recommended.

Great balance between size, cost, and features
This gym strikes a great balance between size, cost, and features. It is high quality and seems like it will last a long time. I looked at a lot of more expensive gyms in the local area, but finally settled on this. I use this gym for auxiliary exercises. So I really like the mid-height pulley, and the bottom pulley for various shoulder and back exercises. If the gym were taller, I'd get more range of motion for some cable exercises like cable cross-overs. But then it wouldn't fit in the garage under the garage door when the door is up. The range of motion is sufficient. One of the greatest discoveries is using the mid-height pulley to do shoulder stretches instead of bands. The pull is much more consistent - I use 20lbs - and I get much better stretches. I find that the pulldown bar does collide with the chest press bars in certain circumstances. However, I don't use the gym for lat pulldowns, so this hasn't been a problem for me. You'll need additional accessories besides the included ones. I bought tricep rope, metal single grip, and strap handles. Also bought nicer ankle straps. The included ab straps gave me rug burns when used for pull throughs. It does take a long time to put together, but just follow the instructions and you'll be fine. Do lubricate the weight guides or there will be some vibration and sticking. I use a very thin coasting of silicone grease.

Rock Solid
VERY Satisfied with my purchase. Handles all weights very easily. I have never felt in danger when using it, and I've been using it for over a year. They thankfully did not paint it for me and had the paint packaged separately, but I didn't really care about the black covering especially if it was just going to flake off soon, so I didn't paint it. Looks decent even before painting. The chin-up bar is great and feels safe as long as you don't swing around too much. The knurling is a bit too much, but I just wrap a towel around it before using it and it's fine. Some pet peeves, as have been mentioned. The spacing between the holes is too large. For the bench press I ended up having to just put the spotters one lower than I otherwise would, then just slide it off my chest, so they can catch the bar before crushing my neck, which they do so admirably. Getting off the bench looks kinda goofy, but the system works for me. I'm 5'11'', and I cannot do Military Press inside the rack. So I wish it were taller, but it isn't that big of a deal. I'm just lazy. Anyways, I bought this with a 300 lbs set, along with a bench. I must say the three combined are among the top 10 purchases I've ever made in my life.

Preis Leistungs Sieger

Consigliato

Gutes Rack zum guten Preis
Sehr gutes Power Rack. Lieferung kam in 3 Paketen.
