Treatments worked, but he was so inconsistent with using multiple steps that he was broken out. As something would go away, three more giants would replace it. He's also an athlete, so his face was just very congested by sweat and bacteria, and I was concerned about scarring. I had good luck with Proactiv years ago, so I thought about it for him. But I knew 3-4 steps wasn't going to happen with that boy, and that I would be spending a lot of money to hound him about washing his face. I ordered X-Out reluctantly, and broke down how to use it and warned him about the bleaching the ingredients cause. He uses X-Out every morning, with X-Out spot treatment. In the evenings he uses Differin Gel, with X-Out spot treatment. After about a week of daily use his face is 80% clearer, and the swollen whiteheads have almost stopped popping up. I can see my kid again! He's only using it one time a day to reduce possible irritation, and the combo of the two medications is working nicely. The 1 Step X-Out is perfect for a young boy like him who doesn't want acne, but who also isn't into a multi-step routine. He's naturally fair and freckled, and with once a day usage he hasn't become dried out, overly oily, or irritated. I'm now 22 and still use this product RELIGIOUSLY! I works wonders for my skin, particularly my cystic acne that nothing touches. When I run out, my face turns into a complete pizza face, so for me it is a MUST!But I think a lot of people don't keep in mind that all acne treatments AREN'T a one size fits all. It might work for you, or it might not, a lot of it is trial and error. If this is your first time using it, get one of the smaller bottles so if it doesn't work you dont have a giant bottle left over. And also, this treatment WILL DRY OUT YOUR SKIN!! Its no secret! It says it on the packaging!! Buy a moisturizer and take care of your skin!One final thing, it can take the color out of dyed hair and can bleach clothes (this is also stated on the packaging), so don't wear any favorite shirts while washing your face and pull your hair back and away if its colored. I learned both of these lessons the hard way lolMy one true complaint is the 2nd item. I miss when they use to put the body bar in as it wonders on body acne! The black head remover or w/e it is doesn't do anything for me and it basically ends up in the trash can.But once again, I find this product amazing! My son uses the face wash every day. He had been plagued with acne for YEARS. We had tried several different products. Most of them had many steps, which he found to be very inconvenient. His face was covered with red, sore pimples, even outside his T-zone. Many of them were scarred, sometimes due to picking them, but sometimes not. Not only did this face wash clear him right up, but the scarring is highly diminished, making his skin appear a normal color instead of the red that we were so used to. Also, it does prevent him from getting acne, for the most part. My complaints are this: I HATE that we are FORCED to purchase these two products together. I really only want the face wash. We don't use the spot corrector, and even if we did, it would last a lot longer than the face wash. So now I have an arsenal of this stuff, which smells really bad, by the way! My other complaint is that the pump on the face wash does NOT work for long. For my son, the face wash lasts about 3 months, so we are on our third bottle of it. The first one's pump stopped working when we took a very long flight from North America to Paris, so I attributed it to the change in pressure in the cargo hold (it's too large to put in a checked bag). The next pump worked fine, so I assumed my theory was correct. Now, we are on the third bottle, and the pump stopped working barely two weeks into it. What he does is take off the entire top mechanism, reach in his fingers, and scoop out the face wash. Of course, once you're down to the bottom, this becomes difficult.
