Very happy I got this
I waited too long before pushing the button on one of these. I was worried about the reviews of similar products mentioning getting brushes stuck. We have a very efficient modern stove, which means the flue gasses are generally pretty cool. Whilst the stove is great, the chimney really needs sweeping 3 times a season since the stove is in almost 24h/day use. We also have 2 x 45degree bends in the first 2M of chimney run, which makes using conventional rods impossible. This kit makes sweeping through a chimney access port/door easy. The rods managed the 2 bends easily, and the kit has paid for itself first use. The drill attachment did pop off the bottom rod a couple of times, but this didnโt cause problems, and is possibly due to technique. Either way, the kit did a brilliant job, and has got the stove back to full efficiency in about 20 minutes. The storage bag is good quality, and means I can keep the rods handy in the under stairs cupboard. I had no worries about the rods themselves coming apart in use. The rod to rod connections (sprung button and hole) are more secure than the drill to rod attachment. This is by design, since the drill to rod connector needs to be removed each time you add another rod. The rods are solid nylon with crimped on steel fittings. They are not pinned through, but I had no worries about the fittings coming off. The rotary technique means that you are constantly moving the brush head up and down, completely different to old fashioned rods with a stiff brush that is very difficult to change direction since the stiff bristles are either pointing down (when pushing up) or up (when pulling down). The whole process was easy and highly successful. Very pleased I bought this. Not perhaps for everyone, but makes a nasty job very straightforward.

Great kit
Really pleased with this product. Stove has two bends in flue and it managed these with no issues. Had no issues adding and removing poles. Just make sure you keep drill turning as you pushed the poles up and bring them back down. Cleaned alot of dirt from flue, probably the best clean I've managed to do with any pole system. Make sure you use plastic cover as there will be alot of dust.

Good, just be aware the rod fittings are a bit of a faff!
I watched a few Youtube videos showing the Chimney Typhoon in use and purchased the Power brush system. So, here's a totally unbiased review! Ok, these are a Chinese copy of the US ButtonLok/SnapLok system, the rods are a solid plastic /Nylon material, the main difference is the locking mechanism on the rods. These are a more simplistic version, a single sprung pin which locates into the female end. It certainly works fine, however it really is a bit of a faff to get off, you have to depress the catch with the tool provided then pull apart, sounds straight forward, but trust me it isn't! Getting on is certainly easier. However, apart from that and considering the price point, it's pretty good. I have a woodburner, with a 8'' stainless steel liner, popped up a GoPro before and after and I have to say, after use, the liner is as clean as a professional sweep. Perfect for using a couple of times a year, you just don't want to be using it every day, regarding, the lock pin system, but of course you know that.. Forgot to say the brush is a Nylon/ strimmer type material, works fine without trimming down. Overall, pleased with the purchase, and probably the purchase cost, less than a chimney sweep call out..(albeit without the house insurance certificate)

Cheaper than a chimney sweep!
Product is excellent! I used it on a 125mm flu liner connected to my wood burner! The brush is a clever design making it universal; no adjustments needed. The assembly is easy, and the idea is you insert poles as you go! This is rather fiddly as the sprung locking catches canโt be pressed with your finger- so disassembly is a fiddly processโฆ but still possible! Worth having a screwdriver handy to help! Battery drills are sufficient if of reasonable quality, and ideally 2-gear- lower gear is best! The performance was excellent and an appreciable amount of soot was removed and generally contained well behind the polyethylene sheet! I will say that the disassembly process will be messy- resist the temptation to remove the sheet to see how much soot you get until the end of the job! If you donโt want a huge clean up, order some dust sheets!!! If you donโt mind getting a bit dirty, this is an excellent product! One thing worth mentioning, itโs a long way from your fireplace to the top of the chimney- so be sure to get a sufficient length! I though 10m was more than enoughโฆ but it was only just long enough!!

Really easy to use and it works well.
This is amazing. I bought the 11 metre one. We had a sweep do our chimney last year. They charged ยฃ110, got their brush stuck in the bird cage at the top and charged me another ยฃ50 to get up on the roof (on my ladders) to retrieve their brush and clean the cage at the top. This kit went straight up and cleaned the cage from the inside. Perfect job. I just used a sheet to cover the stove. Not much mess. All tucked away in the bag now, ready for an end of season clean. I would highly recommend this.

Ease of use
I have been using the traditional rod brush for years to clean my chimney which always proved a bit of a chore due to the stiffness of the rods. The chimney typhoon system uses much small diameter rods which are very flexible and coupled with the smaller head pushing it up the chimney is easy. With the drill attached and the head spinning if gives a very thorough clean with a lot less risk of damage to the flue or liner. The drill can be run forward or reverse should you need to change direction in off chance that the head snags. All in all this is is a vast improvement to the traditional brushes. The kit has all the necessary components, just be sure to order the correct amount of extension rods, I purchased the 10 metre kit. It is worth noting that the bristles are fixed to the head with a screw clamp system which would enable new line to be fitted should the need arise. The line is basically a few strands of heavy duty strimmer cord. Very good system.

Paid for itself in one use โ Great for those DIY minded
โI decided to tackle my own chimney sweeping this year after looking at the rising costs of professional services. This set was roughly a third of the price of paying someone to do it. After watching a few tutorials online, I found it to be a very straightforward job, and the kit provided everything needed to get a clean flue. โThe DIY Experience: โSimplicity: If you are comfortable with basic DIY, you don't need to be intimidated by this. With the right tutorials and a bit of patience, itโs a very manageable task. โThe Brush: Unlike some kits that come with various stiff brushes, this includes a flexible brush head designed to cover most chimney diameters and navigate bends easily. It worked perfectly for my setup, providing a thorough clean without getting stuck. โThe Saving: You really can't argue with the economics. The kit has already paid for itself in a single afternoon, and every use from here on out is a massive saving compared to a professional sweep. โThe "One Star" Deduction: The only reason Iโve given this 4 stars instead of 5 is the quality of the rod connections: โDifficult Clips: This set uses a clip-lock system rather than standard threads. I found the clips quite tricky to get apart once the job was done, especially with a bit of soot in the mechanism. โQuality Control: One of the clips was actually non-functional right out of the box. Thankfully, because I was only doing a bungalow, I had more than enough rods in the set to finish the work, but itโs something to be aware of if you have a taller house and need the full length. โVerdict: Despite the fiddly clips, this is an excellent investment. Itโs effective, the flexible brush is very versatile, and it saves a significant amount of money. Just be prepared to spend a little extra time wrestling with the connections when you're packing it away!

Top notch chimney sweeper
Used this today and its a tidy bit of kit, passed through a 150 mm dia flue pipe with two 45 degree bends no problem at all. The jointing system is solid, in fact it can be a little difficult to disassemble, but I would rather see it like that than have the rods come apart when they are in the flue. My own rating for this tool is 9 out of ten, the reason for one down is the unknown factor of wear and tear.

Very good quality chimney kit
Top quality power sweeper.. I bought to clean my stove that has a 150mm flue liner and it worked great using my cordless drill. The rod connectors are solid and secure so it doesn't come apart and rods are very flexible to get through 45deg at base with ease.. I put up snake camera afterwards to inspect and it had it cleaned great.. I would highly recommend this chimney kit.
