Old Skool CLASSIQ 2 AV Version - Gray/Purple

This was easy to set up and it plays all my old games perfectly. The controllers work great too. This system only connects with the RCA cables.

I have tried other all-in-one trio consoles and other brands and this is the second time I have bought from Old Skool for one of their Classiq units. Both have been impressive especially for the price. This due console works great. The power button is simple, just flip up for NES, no setting the console (like on other units) then pressing power, it's all one switch. Second, NES and SNES run flawless so far, haven't seen any noticeable issues and the NES audio, while not the best quality, matches the original NES instead (unlike other units). Plus you can use the SNES controller for the NES and get a turbo A and B button. It even mas the Y and B and A and B so its not awkward playing games like Super Mario Bros. Pros -Can use original controllers -Can use SNES as NES with turbo if you'd like -Easy power switch, flip up to NES to turn on NES, etc. -Reset button is satisfying -Flash carts work just fine for SNES and NES -No issues emulating original games -Sound matches original SNES and NES -NES zapper works great -Included NES controller is great and ergonomic. Buttons feels fantastic. Love the purple. Cons (minor) -NES sound is a little choppy and pitchy, but still very close to the original NES, hardly a con but just to be up-front -Included SNES controller has good buttons but feels very cheap and light -Power brick is a bit bulky, would love to see a slimmer one. Overall rating: 9/10, best NES and SNES clone bundle I've ever owned.

I grew up with these systems and I know these games like the back of my hand. Every bloop, bleep, sprite and color of my games I have memorized. I ONLY play on tube tvs, because thats the only way the games play right. For years I had a yobo fc twin that recently stopped working, it had problems; some sound effects weren't right, some colors were off, weird verticle lines on the screen, some games like Castlevania 3, Kirby super star, and super ghouls n ghosts were totally incompatible, but it was OK for 40 dollars. I specifically wanted a console that would play these systems that WASNT HD, I have a retro 5 and the games are unplayable on a modern TV, frame rate is off, even on game mode it lags. Since it downloads the ROMs it means it's basically just an emulator. The classiq 2 is actually really good, it plays all the games that weren't compatible with the yobo twin, no scan lines, and all the colors and frame rates are correct. But, there are two main problems; number 1 the SNES slot is SO tight that I'm actually afraid it's going to damage the chips, so I'm either not going to use it, or only play games that I'll keep in for a long time. Number 2, the sound for the NES is weird, there is a strange fluctuation of the volume that comes and goes, and a weird explosion sound with the bass. Rating 8.5 out of 10. Totally worth 50 dollars.

The snes cartridge slot stopped working on my retro duo . The classiq 2 AV is awesome . I can play my snes games again and use the super Gameboy . My favorite controller included with the system is the nes controller. I can play nes games with an nes controller again .

System worked great when I got everything plugged in/ turned on. Checked all my gaming cartridges, they all came on. 3 days later I go to play, I got 45 second into a game, the game started glitching, froze.i turned off and back on, black screen (no video) . I undid and redid everything, nothing changed. I put it on nes, and it came up an orange screen, put back on snes, still black screen. Everything inside system looked fine/ no dust e.t.c. The system simply junked after under a minute.

So far, it’s ran all the games I’ve given it and works fine. The only issue I have with it it’s that the socket grip for the SNES slot is so strong I’m afraid I may accidentally break one of the carts. Other than that, it’s pretty good. Edit: I noticed NES sound quality was a bit janky, this became VERY apparent on Super Mario Bros 3, where it would occasionally play a painfully dissonant note.

So very mixed emotions about this..... Good things! Price, machine works, was delivered fast, and my family was very excited when they saw it brought in!.... ok now the not so good things :(. Box was the original case. And was left on our doorstep in Las Vegas. Meaning any joe smoe walking by would know that it is a gaming console.... no concealment at all or even tucked off in a corner. Nes nintendo box sitting smack dab in front of the door. Easy snatch. Complaint 2.... there is 1 nes controller and 1 SNES controller luckily I had controllers from older systems that do work on this one. I assumed there would be 2 of each I was wrong. So hopefully you have additional controllers and you are home when mail is dropped off because it will be a nintendo box not a brown box that could be anything to the public eye.
